  • those are the best music moments, only you the instrument and the sound

  • very nice job! and nice look vintage ;D

  • Awesome man, I love your style, but the study is the no.22 op.35 in b minor of the Fernando Sor´s Guitar Method writen

  • ah so beautiful...

    magnificent.

  • wtf

  • Hey we're both a couple of backyard musicians!

    Very nice piece!

  • Background noise adds to the piece; doesn't matter about the odd missed note, simply pretty music from way back when, still able to tantalise our imaginations. Great stuff Walt.

  • I love it Walt. I enjoy the outdoor performance as well, it brings a certain spiritual quality to the piece. You're a true artist.

  • Nice job! That step makes a perfect footstool, I need to try it. I really should go back and brush up on all those Sor studies, give the Dowland a break for awhile. I'm not in the mood to fight the Bach stuff ever again, I'm old enough now to know I want to play enjoyable pieces for myself. It's no longer a sport.

  • crisp sound !!!! great performance --you truly are an artist

  • Bravo! and the background sounds perfectly fit to it:) I'm amazed :)))

  • I like your look :P

    Nicely played

    Bravo mon cher monsieur!

  • STORM

    :O

    i love this study.

  • beautiful playing very nice piece aswell

  • Are you going to fix the house foundation? A bit of concrete would do it. Is that teh canteen for milk? Do you have cows? Not bad for a farmer. You are good. :)

  • Fabulous, makes me want to learn this piece. You have excellent technique.

  • That was great. I think in a strange way the background kids and the birds go well with the tune.

  • LOVE!!

  • Good man!

  • this is really great.

no way i could express myself right in english to honor your playing. but it's not just the playing. the surroinding and also your looking. this is beyond fitting. :)

  • I like yer beard mate. Me heard some birds singin' too. Yer dynamics are great and also the balance of the melody and chord.

  • very flowing rendition, background noise adds to ambiance of the piece nicely.

  • Hi Gary

if the chores spur you onto perform like this then im listening for the next vid!!

  • Very fluently played, well done!

  • Good song choice, nice rendition. Thumbs up ; )

  • Very, Very good! a littlebit fast but beautiful!

  • couch critic

  • very good ,but one tick faster than it should ...

it is a song of the soul ,internal ,so why hurry?

As for the birds , its a happy musical fondo !

your guitar sounds very good ,too.

  • NOW...This is down home playing at it's finest..great tune, and very nice technique..Enjoyed this very much..I thought the background noise added to this..especially the birds..and wind...Great Job !!! PB Vidalia Ga

  • I want to thank you and all of the others for their kind comments & criricism. Great to get that feedback. Sincerely

    Gary WALTS

  • Quite enjoyable... I love the setting.

  • If the bums i've seen dress like this played as elegeantly as you do, they wouldnt be bums. Talent doesnt care what one looks like, where on lives, or how one lives. That said, the whole video is a contrast to the elegant playing. Very well played piece sir. 5 stars

  • very good music.

  • cool man i really like that...i think the whole setting adds to it definitely!

  • Great personal touch to the piece and I like the whole look you got going on there. Kind of van Gogh-ish or maybe even a little Old Man and the Sea. And I don't mean this in a bad way. Artsie-fartsie; which is good.

  • I was outdoors working around the house in my old clothes when I decided to tape this piece. Afterwords I thought the birds & noises & somewhat shabby attire added an interesting contrast to the music.

  • @waltsguitar

They didnt add anything but noise to what could have been a fine recording. Next time, just step inside and do it again. Even a video takes practice!

  • Very well played. you have a good sense of the music and play very smoothly. I actually like your rendition of the B minor study quite a bit.

  • I dig it. Very nice.

  • Very good!!!

    Regards.

    Hugs

  • aaahahhaahahhahahaha

    lololol

  • Very nice, well done! Your guitar sounds good (or you make it sound good) and I like the background noises. I'm gonna check out your other videos!

  • I agree. they add a very interesting texture to the song.

  • Very nice job!

    You are like me.

I have also put down the rake and yard tools and prefer the guitar. ;)

  • bravo!!!

  • What a wonderful presentation of one of my favorite tunes. Love the humble setting. Well-done sir!

  • very nice what guitar are you using its sounds really good.

  • The guitar is a Guild Mark V that I bought new in 1983 or 84. Rosewood sides & back, spruce top, though it looks like Cedar in the video. In recent years I have come to appreciate the guitar's tone. Either I've figured out how to get the most from it or It has improved w/age.

  • Really nice video!

Very well played. It's charming backyard you have got there, I like it.

  • I love this Sor study. Well played and thanks for posting it.

    Tim

  • Where did you learn to play? Books? Lessons? You are really good. Tone is really good here, and notes are clear. I think it is excellent.

  • Thank you for your kind words. Originally I had a teacher that taught me the rudiments of reading music & classical guitar technique. In the 1980's I was in 3 Parkening master classes. With him, the focus was tone production involving nail shape, seating posture, tuning. After that he would work with interpretation & technical problems. Beyond that I put in hours & years of practice.

  • Great job! Nice sound and recording

  • well played.Grazie

  • nice job congratulation
