I don't think I ever saw you. The Orange line video was during the same NMRA convention. The female motorman does appear in some cab shots. I could check to see how much raw video I have of both trips that I could send you on a DVD.
i was the motorman on this train i was driving the old blue train on this fan trip.i was also the motorman who help push this train the the yard using # 0665
I attended college in Boston 1970-74, and rode this style of train a couple of times. They were only pressed into service during rush hours. Everyone referred to them as 'cattle cars,' presumably because of the boxcar-like doors. At that time they had to be 60 years old.
This is great, I rode those a couple times near the end of their service in late '74 when I was a kid. Single-panel doors, wood benches and a rough and noisy ride. Even back then, it was like stepping into a time-warp to ride one..
wow i am from boston and i have never seen a train of that vintage still in service. that would be nice to see again. my mother always talked about those "old cars" not having heat and a wooden bench. they did not put a/c in trains until 2000. the buses 2004-2005
Wow, I am the young kid bouncing up and down inside the train when it pulls in at the beginning. The train had run into some trouble making the loop and all I wanted was off the train when we came to a stop!
That hooting sound when the train stops at Bowdoin is similar to what seem to be a train "hooting" horn at Government Center on the Green Line Westbound side. The horn would "hoot" when a train was approaching. I think the last time I heard this was in 1989.
what series are these cars and where are they now?
