Spoiler alert, Christopher said his home people has a cure to this fuel mutation, that means that they have been through something similar before, in other news, Christopher will return not as a prawn but as something different, and his people will come to cure his folks.

@albalrogue29......I know that a sequel would be a gamble and we all know that more often then not sequels are rarely better than the first one. But I just think that so much was left undone and really makes me wonder about the aliens specially their background and how they ended up in our planet. Were they running away from a bigger threat or a more brutal civilization and that is how they ended up on earth. Were they trying to warn us about something? So a sequel has great potential for D9.

Great movie one of my favorite sci-fi movie of all time. I really enjoy the story and the available weaponry effects. The weapons on this movie are very unique compare to other movies and I really enjoy it. Now I really hope the directors and producers really come back with some very hard core second part in which, that aliens either take revenge and colonize our world or go to war with the human species. This movie is one of my all time favorite.

Sharlto Copley is up for Sci-Fi Actor and District 9 is up for Sci-Fi film at the Teen Choice Awards. I know it's no Oscar but D9 and especially Sharlto deserve at least one award commemorating their work. It'd be great if people went to the TCA site and voted once a day.

@lordshardik No no, I'm sure this isn't set in the future. It's set in Earth's present, except in the movie/documentary... Aliens arrived in 1983. It has it as the date for one of the clips in this video.
