They propably spoke french or german or english. French was the foreign language mostly spoken in upper class in Romania. no, romanian royal family did not speak russian. Maybe if Carol II would have married Olga Romanov.

Early in 1914 Nicholas II, and Marie, Romania's Crown Princess decided it would be nice for both countries if Carol and Olga were to marry.Prince Carol, who after all had to do the proposing, balked.  Instead of making up to the rather plain Duchess Olga, he took a fancy to the prettier Duchess Tatiana.Since this was not on the schedule, the matchmakers called the whole affair off, and His Imperial Majesty showed his distaste not only for Carol but for the entire Romanian royal family.

Engleza a luat avant abia dupa cel de-al doilea razboi mondial. Ori vorbeau in germana ori franceza.

@teodoraanime Tarina Alexandra vorbea sigur germana, pentru ca era printesa a Danemarcei. Iar cat despre restul familiei, tarul Nicolae sigur stia si el germana. Mai ales ca in dinastia Romanov, nu mai ramasese decat numele rusesc, in rest sangele lor de cateva secole era numai si numai german, ceea ce a facut ca ramura imperiala ruseasca sa se numeasca Holstein-Gottop-Romanov.

Deci nu conta daca erau in razboi cu Germania, limba aceasta era de baza in acesta familie.
