  • Very cool Doc! Mosquitoes HATE pine needle, or any other kind of pine smoke, (so dense and just sez FORREST FIRE too them I guess!), which is why some always finds it's way into my firepit! Shouts too you, Wranglerstar, Nutn, Crocket 20, and Seanmulhall, among others!

  • hey doc, hope ur not getting annoyed by my posts on all ur vids, but I keep finding something to say.

Any way, I have an uncle in utah, who runs his house off of gassifier generators. He uses the smoke from the burning pine needles to run his generators. That combined with solar he lives off the grid. I thought it was a cool idea. I even made a miniature gassifier and ran a weed eater engine for a while. Just thought it would be something you may be interested in looking into for preparedness.

  • Good video Doc!

  • I'm in highschool , I'd help you :) and maybe get some knowledge too

  • favorite channels are Beast12101, wranglerstar (formerly wranglerbarn), yankeeprepper and theroadwarri0r . . .

  • I made it through till the end!Ha hah...One of my favourite youtubers is W5CYF's channel.John.Another is SLAPHEADCODEMAN....He won't go hungry!!

    All the best.

    73 Sandy

  • One of my favorite channels is equip2endure. But the problem is that there are so many great channels (campfire, MBV, USFrame, beast, yours, etc, etc). Great vid as well doc. just spent a week in the woods and we too burned some pine needles from around our camp for prevention purposes!

  • Looks like fun. right now into hiberniason...cheers!

  • Always good to see your keeping out of mischief Doc! Ammosmith, Iraqiveteran8888, Nutn. Take care, hope the family is doing well.

  • Why do you need to burn them? is it to prevent further excess fuel in the summer?

    Cheers

  • Burning Needles seems strangely fun after watching this! Sootch00 shoutout and lots of other up & comers like GunBlogger

  • Thanks bushidodecildog

  • my favorite is stayingawake20 he is a small channel but really good

  • Wow you have a really beautiful property!

  • I cannot believe I watched an 8 min video about buring pine needles and ENJOYED IT!!! You have an awesome property.

Wow, picking a favorite channel. Tuff to do... besides yours, got a say, Nutn' for all around topics. He is one stop shopping.

  • cutlerylover is the man.

  • MadBadVoodo, Wranglerstar, Nutnfancy, I could go on and on but you know the group of people

  • ha, nice tee shirt

  • Looks like a nice seasonal source of fuel. If there was some way of binding the needles together, for lack of a better word, surely they'd make a great saver towards fuel costs?

Bricks of pine needles anyone? :)

  • @usnerdoc 2 of my favorites are shugemery and maddythegoose. But I had a question about the comment you posted below. I loved wranglerbarn but thought he closed his channel? Is there some where else I can watch his vids? Love ur videos. Keep it up!

  • @itsmenckgonzalez Wranglerbarn channel is now called "wranglerstar". Enjoy!

  • Love yard work and the wonderful smell of burning leaves. This was fun to watch.

Channels I check everyday .. USNERDOC, Cr0cket20 (great hikes, etc.) and AI4QT.

  • there are far to many great channels to select a favorite. goindeff is up there on the top id say. as far as production quality nutnfancy has great videos but in all honesty he isnt a part of the community to me.

  • Why burn pine needles? Is there a benefit to having less of them?

I enjoy watching YankeePrepper, GoatHollow, WEPollock, to name a few.

  • I watch the usual suspects most people here watch. If you into blacksmithing/knife forging, a guy I just started watching is Deermountainforge. He has some neat vids on Damascus steel, and sheath making.

  • I'd like to vote for all the channels I have subbed but to pick one I'd say Gywnn1975

  • leaf guard, works great, and you can install in your self. keeps the guarders nice and clean. my favorite channel is USNERDOC, and analyticalsurvival

    thanks,

    mike

  • leaf guard, works great, and you can install in your self. keeps the guarders nice and clean.

    thanks,

    mike

  • great video !! thanks your channel is one of my favorite channels thanks

  • @recon66661 - many thanks for the kind words and support! It is viewers like yourself that make this all worthwhile.

  • I would add your channels to the growing list! I agree with Analytical Survival . . . he is squared away and great guy with an awesome channel.

  • @USNERDOC Great area to live, I wouldnt mind moving to the Bend area. I also watch Wranglerstar, great vids

  • @RESISTCONTROL2 - it is a beautiful area . . . very relaxing! Wranglerstar is a great channel and Cody is squared away guy with a passion to share his interests . . . I am glad he is still kicking and making awesome videos.

  • LOL, chores.. excellent, the best part of YT is you never know what's next

Thanks for the peek at yardwork in the NW.. I’ve dealt with grass, snow and cactus, but never pine needles to that extent

I’d have to pick a dozen channels since I watch so many, but it doesn’t look like many people have mentioned AnalyticalSurvival so he will be my pick. And thanks to you for pointing us to him

  • Yardwork.. fun stuff... at least for me. I get to use a machete :D

As for favorite vids.. when I get home from work, and back again after getting out, I look for vids from Cutlerylover, Equip2Endure, and USNERDOC the most. They are the first vids I go to watch.

  • Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • The joy of home ownership comes in many ways.

  • I like my channel! jackmeoffer. I also like Cutlerlover, madbadvoodoo, TNP, hiberniason, lookinformemarbles

  • I never thought I'd watch a video of another grown man doing yard work. Keep it up Doc.

I like tactical gear head videos. We seem to like the same stuff just like you. 73 kb1uvi. Semper Fi Jim

  • @jimbosan72 - LOL . . . well I just take my camera where ever I go. I just happened to be burning pine needles that day. Just be thankful I didn't take you along for raking!

    TGH is a great channel.

Thank you for your service. Semper Fi!

73 and thanks for the support.

  • My favorite channels: Nutnfancy, MrLockandload, Cutlerylover, ... not forgetting to mention USNERDOC! And pretty much everybody else of the TNP All Star crew! Great work all you guys are doing! -Nax

  • @NaxTactical - Nax, always good to hear from you . . . thanks for the support!

  • @USNERDOC Anytime! -Nax

  • "That gutter rake looked to be very handy, I've never seen one before." - CampfireTalk. Ditto here, that looks very useful. USNERDOC is a favorite but really when anyone I sub to puts up a new vid I'm stoked.

  • @TangoMikeFoxtrot - I picked the gutter rake up at Ace Hardware a couple of years ago and it has proved to be very useful.

  • I wish for a cold day in October, Florida just giving me that, I wish so much for the "4" seasons.

  • You battle pine needles I battle maple leaves : ) Thanks for the encouragement brother. For anyone reading this that might be wondering I've been having some set backs with new equipment, but I sense a break through today!

That gutter rake looked to be very handy, I've never seen one before. Which reminds me I'll need to get up on the ladder soon to tackle all my leaves.

So many channels but there are two that ride under the radar at times & I've become a big fan of both: shugemery & SnowLobo95

  • @CampfireTalk - Good recommendations with shugemery and Snowlobo95! Those technical problems can be quite bothersome little gremlins . . . hang in there!

  • Am I missing something? why do you need to do this?

  • @bushblade - Why do I need to burn pine needles? We are located in the middle of a National Forest. Home owners are required to maintain a safe interface between homes and the forest. Recently we have had 2 forest fires come very close . . . one within 2 miles. Hope that helps clarify what I'm doing. Of course cleaning the gutters is just good common sense.

  • @USNERDOC Cheers for that ;)

  • Thanks for bringing us along. I gotta say Wranglerstar is my fave these days.

  • @SixtyAteOutdoors - Agreed. I'm glad he is still around for sure.

  • I can't just pick one favorite channel! It's one of the truly impossible things. A much shorter list would be who *isn't* one of my favorite channels, but even as such they're still good folks.

  • There are three channels I check daily, USNERDOC, SOOTCH00 and Nutnfancy. Obviously there are many more but these are my favorites.

  • My favorites are a three way tie... USNERDOC, TheLateBoyScout and nutnfancy. Second runner up would be TyingItAllTogether who appears to be a knot master. I don't have good video recording equipment yet but I am looking forward to getting some so that I may contribute something to the community.

  • hi doc, I enjoy your videos bro sorry I haven't left more comments in the past. I have never been to your corner of the world but it looks beautiful, of course that is easy to say when you haven't had to bust a hump gathering and burning pine needles all your life having grown up there. thanks for being a pal. take care.

  • Man DOC thought I had it bad,but I will stick to what I have to deal with! Is that white pine? Its either needles or leaves reguardless not fun !!

  • if you guys like reloading, shooting, solar, flying and some cool guy stuff.

Check out Kevin on the outer banks of NC... channel is OBXSOLWIND.

he makes some nice videos. Keep up the good work Doc.

  • Leaf blower Doc. Get a Leaf blower.

  • Pine needles are everywhere this time of year. I put them around the shrubs to keep weeds back. Good use for out of date road flares that you wouldn't want to depend on in a emergency.

  • my fav channel is u sir

  • love nutnfancy, MrLockandload ,WranglerStar, Sootch00,USNERDOC,AnalyticalSurvival,Yankeeprepper ,survivalistboards ‎ and SafeArmsReview All these people are real Patriots in my mind!

  • wow that must smell good

  • I will tell you my favorite channel...just as soon as you tell us which of your kids is your favorite! :-) I will tell you this: CampfireTalk is simply one of the nicest, most caring, genuine people I have never met.

  • @HawkLMT I'm humbled by you brother. Thanks Hawk

  • @HawkLMT - well said as always! I would put you in that same category Hawk.

  • I love your vids USNERDOC, keep up the good work. As a North Carolina resident, it’s interesting seeing the northwestern part of the country. As for channels on the tube, I enjoy fredhart and johnwaynecolt45, but the best was wranglerbarn.

  • Doc I would have to say that your channel is my favorite! I always look forward to the next time a USNERDOC video pops up for me to watch! Thank you for everything that you do, and good luck with your pine needles!

    -Bryan

  • Sipping on that rockstar!!!! But as far as a favorite channel...there are too many but my first would be YankeePrepper, absolutely great channel!!!! In addition a wealth of information can be had from beast12101, ThePatroitNurse, PackRat556, RoscoeBa, nutnfancy, and AnalyticalSurvival. Your channel turned me on FAK's and emergency vehicle heaters(the very first video of yours I watched). Keep up the good work!!!!!

  • Very nice property you have there. We have leaves in in VA. They are even more annoying IMO. I can't narrow it down to one channel. But your definitely in my top 5 out of 411!

  • Yes, I watched the whole video. I grew up burning in the fall and I can almost smell the smoke watching your vid. I am a follower of USNERDOC, Nutnfancy, and WranglerStar. Good for you. Enjoying those great fall days on your property.....wow, I wish I was doing the same again.

  • Doc..

I just ordered something, and as soon as it gts to me, I am going to be sending off to you a bit of a care package... Be on the lookout!

  • pine needles dont bother me my nemisis are hitchhikers lol those things always get stuck in my socks and I hate it

  • Dr. David, you have to stop looking at the viewfinder and start looking at the camera lens! xD

Other than that, I absolutely love your videos!

Keep up the excellent work, Doc!

    Cheers from Portugal!

  • @TechnoZombie - good advice . . . it is hard to look into the lens when watching the viewfinder for composition . . . however, I will do my best! You've nudged me in this direction before and I am not making much progress. ;-)

Thanks for the kind words and support!

  • number 1 rule of burning physics - the smoke will always turn to the direction of the fire tender. lol. shallnotbeinfringed & JohnWayneColt45

  • @ODgr33n - the smoke does have a way of following you around!

  • @USNERDOC THE BEST IS CUTLERYLOVER

  • A channel that I really look forward to seeing videos would be the armory channel.

  • you have the right idea, forest service has been doing control burning near the head of the metolious. I too have been looking at the ftm-10r, weatherproof for days when the top is off the scout, and will replace the am/fm radio in the truck. Take care, dont work too hard. ;)

  • My favorite channel is also the one that connected me to you. TNP. Second place is Sootch

  • Favorite channels? because of all the varying interests I have, there are 100s out there that are great. I probably don't watch what most would consider to be the "prime" channels, topic and flavor do not change enough for me. From woodworking to Fall cleanup, lol, of course, our pal USNERDOC has a tremendously interesting channel.

  • @usframe - stay tuned . . . I think there is some special coffee brewing tomorrow ;-)

  • YankeePrepper is my first choice, common sense survival and prepping. Nutnfancy, MrLockandLoad, Sootch00, what a fountain of knowledge these guys bring to the table. Oh, and everyone should also checkout ThePatriotNurse, great information!

  • do you burn the needles to reduce fuel on the ground?

  • Hey, USNERDOC, in addition to yourself, Nutnfancy, Sootch00, Cutlerylover, and many other great channels, I wanted to give a shoutout to a few others that may not have the exposure of some of the aforementioned channels Hiberniason, Landshark22, and MrLockandLoad. A little different focus for them, but I find them interesting, entertaining, and informative all the same.

  • Man those pine needles seem like a real pain in the ass!!! Thanks 4 the shout out and as 4 my fav channel I love so many but if I must how about a shout out 2 KidBoood1 and TheRoxyStar...

  • I used to have to rake needles on my grandfather's property. It took weeks.
