The phone will tell you to touch the Android after which you need to setup up a new since we aren’t using a T-Mobile SIM in our G1.

After the activation fails, press Try Again you ! Your Andriod phone is now unlocked and activated running on the network of your choice. You should be able to use all the phone’s features and be totally good to go!

ok i have a prepaid sim card for a sidekick lx...i used sum1 elses simcard to open my g1 and set up my gmail account on my g1 and thn i put my prepaid sim in the g1...all i can do is call and text but i want 3g service on my sim card so i can go to the internet and goto the market to download apps... but i cnt because my simcard is not 3g its prepaid...is tht possible to do plz let me knoe 1

i cancelled my data service on my G1. i did not use it for couple of months. when i turned it on again it says, press android, enter g1 account. create or sign in. when i try to sign in it says, cannot connect to server.

This is not hard at all its a joke. All you have to do is call up customer service on tmobile and request an unlock code i never had tmobile and i still got it to work w/att

lol you cant use 3g on it because tmobile and att 3g are on diffrent frequency bands so there is NO point in unlocking

you can use any phone service provider. So if you buy a phone exclusively for AT&T you can unlock it so T-Mobile, cingular etc users can use them.

If you try to use a different sim card with a different service provider, you'll notice how the phone will not read the foreign sim card

ipod won't work with bluetooth. It's only work in group of T-mobile user as far i know. so you'd rather try it on other mp3player like samsung yp-p3. P3 supports a bluetooth , moreover it is available under the wireless condition.

guy if you know what your doing unlocking a sidekick isnt that bad i unlocked a friends and you can do everything all you have to do is change some network codes. im not going to unlock a g1 because i have a 3g but it isnt that bad.

Any phone can be unlocked for making phone calls. But whats the point in unlocking the G1 if you cant access the 3g network or download apps from the android market.
