Wow popular because of the 3 cut-scenes it had?? it wont be much more then that. It is/was popular because of it's ease of use, the graphics didnt strain any machine, and it ended up catering to the "casual" crowd and it caught on. oh well :p

Just so you know, the CG cutscenes in BioWare games are made by Blur Studios. They make CG cutscenes for many games and are amazing.
