I cried at the end of Switch because of this song. I was 15 and CONVINCED that I experienced a piece of heaven. It's like blue sky and clouds with the lyrics softly written in white. I never forgot that feeling.

Also, if you listen to the track all the way to the very end you can hear Clannad softly cooing as if lulling a baby to sleep but really reassuring us! Honest and loving with a happy ending to everyone's story. It almost makes this life make sense.

Paul Young is a great interpreter of songs and has a vast back catalogue of wonderful music, but this is one of his best. The voices combine sublimely ,the lyrics are meaningful. I would have thought that Paul Young will look back on this as musically one of his finest accomplishments. It should have been a number one hit single, but there is no accounting for taste.

I am now sixteen and I recently opened an eleven year old time capsule. It had been made for the new millennium when I was still four. It was meant to be opened last year on my birthday but it had been forgotten about. In it there was a packet with questions. One was what my favorite song was: Both Sides Now.

Pure brilliance. I feel like I am at the pearly gates every time I hear this. It worked wonderfully with the film "Switch" at the beginning with the cloud shots AND the during the end sequence with the matte painting of NYC (thank you ILM!).
