as cool as that sounds, it isn't accurate. the problem with using an arpeggiator is that you can only use one pattern, but the song uses different patterns. i realize you were just trying to make it easier, so good job thinking of a simple solution
well that pretty much how Thomas did it for the original song, they just used a korg triton and ran it in abelton on 12 tracks adding gain filters and using the vocoder setting. theres an article on the abelton page where he talks about it

turn it on with all the steps on too and it should be right. Just set the tempo to what sounds right, i think it's the default scale after setting up the sound like the original video.
