The first time I went to L.A, I rented a car and drove past a very nice-looking restaurant. Better yet, it appeared to be no more than quarter of a mile from my hotel. I'm originally from New York City, so walking that far was no big deal. However, as I started out, I immediately got the sense that something was wrong, and there was -- I WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE STREET! It's true -- NOBODY walks in LA! I hummed that song to myself all evening, LOL!

MP and The Motels were the leading edge of LA based New Wave music - other bands like The Cars, Wang Chung and many others were in the middle of the mix and really awesome too!
