  • its funny i was born in 1980 and i remember there song rise up. my mom singed it to me from the time i was 4 to about 8 years old . now this song i dident her until summer of 2009 . i came across it on galaxy remember the 80s and all i can say is thank god . great talent one off my favorite song even though it was made when i was only 4. the best part is there canadian and that makes me proud.

  • classic 80's........luv ya lorraine

  • this song takes me back to the "Roller Gardens" days. I used to think it was called "Shut up".

  • cool song. always loved the parachute club. truly canadian

  • Met the band on Isla Mujeres the year they composed this .Song gets its title from an island temple to the Mayan goddess of fertility, water and happiness. Ironically the temple was partly destroyed (natural causes) just after the island got its freshwater delivered by a new hi-tech pipeline. Great song, fine people.

  • Haven't heard this song in ages. I forgot how good it was.+

  • An incredibly talented band....... no wonder they couldn't make it biG in the USA

  • The video is a Road Warrior rip off though.

  • This album is available only on itunes (well worth it at $5.99, it's excellent), never made it to CD unfortunately.

  • Back in the day this cassette would run you $15.00 -$19.00

You were the man if you had Pioneer GM 120 amp and deck in your car cost $1000.00 -$1500.00.

Something similar with the same power at Wal Mart is $200-$300 today

People made a living jacking cassettes and ripping stereos

It was easier to steal the car than the stereo with all the security built in to the head unit

  • @viper1966 I bet you can find the CD in the bargain bin a Wal-mart for a buck.

  • @dong2phat4u Good Idea except this group was trapped in a black hole of time in the recording industry. When this came out you had the following formats SINGLE LP 8 TRACK CASSETTE CD They never went to CD so unless someone buys the royalties and produces the CD it does not exist. This would be a great project for K TEL if they still had half the brains of Mickey Elfenbein in control . New technology is great just never be the first one to endorse it until it proves itself.
  • Im so in love with this song. Trying to find the the song or the album which the song is on. Cant find it anywhere. Please help. Thanks

  • @Trini19771

    From Wikki

The band's second album At the Feet of the Moon was released In October 1984,

  • @Trini19771 Good day

This is title track of the album. (I happen to somewhere have original Cass. I have all their music except "Big Big World") Personally I liked Small Victories best ,& have 2 copies.

Also Lorraine S solo CD, released after P.C breakup.

You should find an original copy on eBay. I have found orig music there.

(I may well sell off ,my massive collection in yr or so)

I maybe could find one here..

  • Again no exposure but a fantastic group, the music i grew up with as a little girl...videos i watched on our video channel....

  • I love the harmonies of this song. They transcend PRIDE; something PRIDE needs to do now.

  • Great song ! Another super good song by PC is a song called " Innuendo." Might actually be their best song.

  • @look4yolanda 5 yrs...try googling the words next time :)

  • Where would I be able to find the correct lyrics to this song? I've tried a few sites but nothing as yet .

  • @djdollarwine I have posted the lyrics at the posting for the longer 12" version, which also has extended lyrics: 12" Parachute Club - At The Feet Of The Moon (12'' dance remix). What a great song by a great group, gone too soon and never got their due!

  • @Navillusnalla Thank You :)

  • i didn't know they from toronto wow we mexico listen to us and candian music too

  • Great shit from the T.O. vault. i wonder if any member of the parachute club ever wore fashion from montreal's 80s PARACHUTE the same ones that fit Don Johnson in the later eps of Miami Vice.

  • And a real cool girl too!

  • Great song, sadly I never heard of it until now by accident. Gonna have to find this and add to my ipod so I can continue to enjoy it!

  • This is def. better than justin bieber.

  • This is just SUPERB 80's SONG

  • @ofthelinegt ,,uh dont you mean 'ridiculous 'there skippy

  • Way!!!

  • Great song by a great band.

  • Not generally a fan of this band, but i gotta admit this a is a solid tune.

  • was this a guy or a girl singing ? I was born in 1981 and always wondered...

  • @doobyboy21 a woman, Lorainne Segatto

  • i mean i was born 1972 great music in the 80's yea

  • paracute club is great in the 60's i was teem in the 80;s

  • this song is good but the band is an bunch of fags

  • @30301500 Go fuck yourself punk...And when you're done,,Tell that pig you call your mother,i say hi (rubbing my crotch)...Saw her last week on Hastings handing out free potato chips and condoms....If i recall correctly, she was muttering something like,,,,"Free Lays"....

  • @wrxmike123 whats the matter faggot? get picked on to much?

  • @30301500 Girls (said in my best Mrs Garrett voice)! Why are you fighting? "Tell that pig you call your mother"? "What's the matter faggot"? SURELY you have something better to do than 'flame' each other...

  • @shmuli9 I agree. Both of you grow the fuck up and stop using anti gay slurs as insults. :P

  • @offthelinegt......you spelled Canada with a lower case 'c' douchepacker

  • @nneevveerrmmoorree douchepacker? lol .. and right back at you for inventing names that sound rediculous ... lol (litterally)

  • thanks

  • Man heard this song years on the radio and i always missed the title of the song and now i finaly found it Yay (:

  • To those of you who are not familiar with the Parachute Club, you might also want to check out a neat song called " INNUENDO. "

  • Takes me back to the great days of my BMX racing!!!!!

  • This is just yet another of the songs I remember fondly from my childhood in the eighties. I must admit, I'm glad I'm Canadian--because I heard all the American hits at the time, and yet apparently I got to hear so many fabulous songs that the Americans missed out on. Hmm, I think they should open their minds, and their airwaves a bit...

  • Love the bass in this song. I remember in the US this was on a couple of times on MTV (back when they actually played videos) late at night. I used to record the videos and watch later. It stayed with me because of the beat and bass and because the video was different but very simple.

  • love this song! thanks for posting :)

  • I used to hear this tune all the time growing up in Buffalo and then on the internet when I moved to DC when Martin Streak (RIP) of CFNY in TO would play it on Sunday Night Retro and I always liked it. Sadly Martins gone and Im unsure if those idiots at CFNY have carried on the tradition since he passed oh and after they fired him for no reason...idiots. great tune nonetheless from another Canuck group that deserved recognition outside of the Great White North.

  • They played in Brandon Manitoba on their "Rise up" tour (fall of 83?). My best friend was really liked Julie & Lorraine, so she decided to go there every night they were in town, i only went a couple of times. Great music and good memories!!

  • Saw them in 1989 at Nathan Philips Square in Toronto..and they were one seriously energetic bunch..fun to watch and we were all bouncing around like superballs..

  • I forgot just how GREAT this video was!!!

    It really was groundbreaking.

So glad I found it again.

  • R.I.P Margo Davidson she was my Cousin and died May 17th 2009 R.I.P!!!

  • @Comeenttttor -- so sorry to hear that! my condolences

  • I always regretted I never got to see them live but I still love their music and spirit. It's true they never got the attention here in the USA that they deserved. Long Live The Parachute Club!

  • One of the members, I believe the keyboard player recently passed away at a young age. Was sorry to hear about that.

  • Love to listen to Lorraine Segato

  • I recently heard this song, this is why I fell in love with it again:)

  • I heard this song again recently, which I fell in love with it again:)

  • The 80s the only era where the guys wore makeup as well as or even better than the girls did.

  • @CelesteK True, but the music and this video were AWESOME:)

  • This song is SO awesome. I remember loving it as a kid! Its still one of my favourite songs!

  • Interesting sound

  • I bought the album that contained this song in 1985. A few months later I was an exchange student at L.U. in Sudbury. One night I was at a club and it was wild, as an American, to all of the sudden hear this song on the jukebox but see people dancing to it. It's still a nice song after all these years.

  • what happened to the parachute club??

  • @JUSTINIGHTMARE youtube "parachute club toronto pride 2008" and you will see them at their reunion concert.

  • R.I.P. Margo Davidson. (sax/vox)

  • Margo Davidson is/was my aunt. [rip aunt margo. see you in heaven.] <3

  • Actually, acespyblaster, for the album "At the Feet of the Moon" Keir Brownstone is on bass, not Steve Webster.

  • I remember being like 5 and having my mom's tape of this. I listened to it in my room at night when I was supposed to be asleep haha god I was weird.

  • I've got 2 have this track.

  • 3:14 rocks the soul.

  • god ..... this reminds me of being a baby. 1984 baby here, this was all my mom listened to .... i cant find Innuendo tho! :o( Can someone help???

  • omg, forgot about this one. crtc mandated, though not so bad really. rise up.

  • Zou..ditto yerright

  • Why were so many Canadian vids from the '80s into the interpretive artsy dance schtick. i guess it iwas cheaper to film since Canadian acts has way less video budgets than their U.S. and U.K. counterparts.

  • ya man, we have great talent up here in

canada ... makes me proud ... you Americans need to look harder and recognise!

  • @offthelinegt AMEN IF U watched the making of northern lights ronnie hawkins said canadians have to work 2ce as hard to get recognition dont believe it i love them lived in mtl for 12 yrs get on w yo bad self :-}

  • @offthelinegt - you got that right AMEN TO THAT YES CANADIANS ARE TALENTED IN EVERY ASPECT OF MUSIC and i'm proud to be a canadian

  • @offthelinegt I beg to differ: I grew up on the US side of the border and loved to death the fact that the rest of the US didn't notice Canadian music--I had always thought that preserved it; kept it better. You guys don't need the slime the US produces oozing into your music.

  • @cochranexyz That's not necessary, we're not a bloody time capsule up here. True, we dont need the "slime" you speak of but we also dont need to be ignored

  • @offthelinegt I hear you.

  • @offthelinegt "You Americans"? I'm quite sure that a lot of the Canadian bands that WERE popular in Canada were popular mainly because they HAD to be played on the (AM) radio... By the way, unless you're IN the music industry, you can't proud of a musical group. (That's rather like saying "I'm proud to live on Earth" or "I'm proud to buy groceries".)

  • Actually at the time this video was done, it was the most expensive one in Canada. Besides, what do bigger budgets do other than confuse us by making videos that have nothing to do with the song?

  • Budget of 50 cents..with alot of stealing from nova heart effects..

  • best.song.ever.

  • Iran............Neda. The face that shakes the world! give the students all the back up you can.

  • If you like this Canadian 80's music, search also for Martha & the Muffins (also called M+M) "Women Around the World"; Gowan "Criminal Mind"; Jane Siberry "Mimi on the Beach", and Chalk Circle "This Mourning". I love 80's music, it was big hair, synths for the first time, and inno-freaking-vation!

  • I think this video was out in late '84 going into '85. I remember being on a school trip & one of my room mates was doing his impression of the dance from 3:30 onwards...good times/good memories of being young!

  • Heard this on CBC video show back in the 80s. That show and this video opened my eyes different music. Thank god we got CBC in Northern MI...otherwise I despair what my music tastes would be!

  • If you like 80's alternative retro music you can't do much better than CFNY's show Sundays 9 p.m. - 2 a.m. Eastern time, listen live through edge102(dot)com But hold your nose; it's Sunday night, there will be CanCon (Canadian Content) to make their end-of-week quotas! Horrible, horrible Toronto bands of the era like Martha & the Muffins, Jane Siberry, Chalk Circle, Gowan...and these parachute enthusiast ladies...lol jk.

  • Good Rockin' Tonight was the video show, no doubt.

  • goog times!!!! 80`s i remember this good mémories....time go so fast

    thank u

    lvlartin1

    lvlontreal

  • This is one of the great songs I remember from my time in Canada back in the 1980's. Ah, memories! A wonderful time, yet full of terrible pain as well. Did we actually dress like that back then? Sorry to hear of Margo Davidson's passing some time back. Thank you for posting this video!

  • Sweet! Thank you! :D
