I like the song, but there's a lyric in there that says "soft as Gandhi".
Excuse me? Soft as Gandhi? I'm sure these two bit gangster rappers made a few dollars selling crack in the hood before they signed their record deal, but Gandhi KICKED THE BRITISH EMPIRE OUT OF INDIA. Let's see these studio recording artists do that. These motherfuckers don't know the meaning of the word "hard".
Don't worry ppl he will get a title shot again he is the only one capable to beat gsp if any one things I'm wrong than reply to my comment with a good explanation
I wouldn't be surprised if he got a title-shot, especially if he tightens up his wrestling that much more. I don't think he's the only one capable to beat Georges but he's definitely got a better shot than most. The one fighter I'm very worried about is Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. He's not top-10 yet but stylistically and size-wise, he's a scary match-up for anyone including GSP due to his own wrestling and striking being pretty nasty. It'd be an interesting fight imo.
@linkbleu25 I love him but Thiago isn't relevant in the sport anymore, he'll never get a rematch against GSP and he'll never get another title shot again.
@JsDotWan Hi. Different styles do better against different styles. So say if Nick Diaz takes the title from GSP, Thiago Alves might be able to beat Nick Diaz and take the title.
@Nickbuskirk That has nothing to do with what i said but yeah, maybe he could beat Diaz but the point is he'll never get another title shot, Thiago isn't a big name in mma anymore, he's on the road out.
@JsDotWan I agree. He's one of my favorite fighters in WW, but he'll never be more than a gatekeeper, if that. His wrestling is too sub-par for the ww division (which has some, if not the, best wrestlers in the UFC). Too bad, I really like the dude.
@EoinGlynn903 Have you seen his last few fights? Age isn't everything. Just cause he's young doesn't mean that he'll win the title lol AND he failed to make weight on his first attempt AGAIN. Thiago is done in the ufc if he loses here and he's pretty much done with all his big fights in mma, he blew it.
@EoinGlynn903 By looking at his fighting style, as soon as a fight get taken to the ground and he's on his back he gives up and look at all the top quality wrestlers in the welterweight division.
@JsDotWan Pretty sure you dont watch ufc as much as you let off. A lot of the greats go through a few rough fights. Thiago came off of brain surgery, not many in the sport bounce back from what he did. And age has a lot to do with it. He has years left in his career to evolve. Little bit premature to say he's irrelevant in the ufc.
@MrMuzzak Bro, i haven't missed an event since Tito vs Shamrock 1 so don't get at me with that shit, It wasn't serious surgery and hasn't impared his skill in the slightest. Age isn't everything because look at Randy when he retired? And look at Anderson now, Anderson is 38 and still number 1 pfp LOL! Don't try and argue when you don't know shitm Thiago might still be good, yes, i didn't say he wasn't but he wont get another title fight because he wont get through the divisions big wrestlers.
@JsDotWan where the fuck do you get this age idea? he means hes young and is still growing as a fighter numb nuts, 2nd Silva isnt 38 but im not going to 'try to argue with someone when they dont know shitm' KEEP KNOCKIN HEADS ALVES.
@jubjub09222 Wow bro, you're retarded. He cuts an insane amount of weight to get to 170 and had missed weight what like 4 times? He can't keep doing that as he gets older. He is a striker not a mixed martial artist and everyone knows it aswell as i do so fuck off and learn your shit.
@JsDotWan wow i dont even know where to start, stupid ass people & comments are hard to reply to. Where the fuck do you get these ideas to come back at people? cutting weight? im aware he wont be able to do this as he gets older but it has nothing to do with anything people have said including me, my original point was hes young and still growing as a fighter so given time if not already he will knock your wrestler the fuck out. so fuck off and learn some shit. PS mixed martial artists r in UFC
@JsDotWan Probably not GSP the guys a beast but id like to see rumble and alves i think it would make a good bout but he would probably put brenneman to sleep but we never know till it happens its a fight things can change in an instant, alves certainly has more then enough power to KO them all and if he catches them there done never count someone out especially someone as talented as this kid.
@jubjub09222 Yeah, i see what you're saying but in Thiago's previous fights he seems to just give up when he gets put on his back and someone like Rumble that should really be fighting at 185 and is insanely powerful would easily do that and Breneman isn't a great fighter but his wrestling agains Story was absolutely outstanding, Thiago is just in a difficult weight class for his style of fighting.
@JsDotWan tito/shamrock 1 ?! jesus pro mma fan here. if you were actually observant you would see that all belts are held by Notible strikers. Wrestling is a huge tool you are correct but if you think it out weighs striking you're naive and stupid. Stop being so defensive and flexing your muscles behind a fuckin keyboard. 90% of the people here think thiago can go to the top. WWE is for people like you who have everything mapped out, any fight can be changed by 1 punch in the ufc.
@MrMuzzak You're an idiot, Firstly i hate Brock so go fuck yourself. Secondly, no. Belts are mainly held by wrestlers. Edgar is a wrestler which favours him because he can dictate where the fight takes place so if he thinks he can win on the feet he can keep it there and vice versa, exactly like Gsp, Cruz and Jones, Cain was a wrestler than got knocked out, unlucky for him fair enough and before you say it JDS is one of my top 5's so no, i don't hate him.
@JsDotWan So go back and watch the fights...i said you were right about wrestling, however if you watch the fights tell me where wrestling over takes striking. You original idiotic point was anderson silva, who barely touches the fuckin ground anymore. JDS? highlight reels? striker. GSP with his shit jab happy performances...is probably the closest out of all to actually using his wrestling to the full. Frankie edgar likes to stand up and bang.
Rashad was another belt holder, striker..barely touched his wrestling in the last i dunno how long. John Jones, striker, uses muay thai...has the belt in the most dominant weight class. Rampage, wrestler also barely lets fights go to the ground. So please pro mma fan, tell me at what point does wrestling make all the difference?
@MrMuzzak You just proved my point exactly. They use wrestling to dictate where the fight takes place to their advantage and they do use their wrestling when they're worried or feel they're being outstruck. Jones used his wrestling to dominate Bader, Rashad used his wrestling to dominate Rampage. So being 100% honest if you don't think wrestling is important in mma then you're a retard.
@JsDotWan No you are the retard...i said go back and watch the fights and see if the wrestling out weighs the striking, Jones vs Shogun (BELT FIGHT) complete striking. Edgar vs Maynard striking with a little ground and pound at the end. Anderson silva not a wrestler but hasnt touched the ground since sonnen. Jones vs rampage Striking, My point is that all these wrestlers rely on boxing/muay thai more so than wrestling. My original point is that a good striker is match for anyone.
And i never said wrestling isnt important. Its more dangerous than BJJ if used properly. But the current title fights have been majority striking. GSP uses his wrestling to grab points, not because he's being outstruck. Alves is a strong talented fighter that has plenty of room left over in his career to improve in all aspects.
@MrMuzzak LOL, Gsp uses his wrestling if he thinks he's going to be outstruck, i mean let's be honest, do you see him standing with Nick Diaz or do you see him using his WRESTLING to take him down and grind out a desicion?
@jubjub09222 You obviously don't know the fighters very well then, Diaz may get pointed out if GSP plays it safe but Gsp WILL NOT finish Nick Diaz, i'd bet my life on it.
Also you have seen numerous upsets and comebacks and would also recognize young careers in the ufc if you actually "watch fights". You're probably a fuckin brock lesnar fanboy anyways.
MMA fans are so fickle. people forget that this is the same guy who made kos and hughes look amateur and out struck john howard. this guy hes going up agaisnt who is making his ufc debut has no idea what hes getting into
Even with showing only the Thiago highlights in the GSP match it still makes Thiago look bad. GSP highlights in that fight would make Silva look novice.
Best striker in that division, if he gets himself a solid ground game, works on his guillotine and takedown defense he could give GSP some trouble, like he did in their last fight.. Not that it will matter, because Nick Diaz is going to finish GSP when they fight.
GSP couldn't finish K1 Jake Shields with a striking arsenal of 3 strikes, he couldn't finish a blind Josh Koscheck, and he doesn't know how to fight to win anymore... He fights not to lose, he doesn't fight to win.
Exactly, that's the only thing keeping him as champion.. Nick will beat him because Nick won't let GSP stall, he will intentionally drop his hands and walk forward to make GSP fight.. Nick will make George fall into his game and catch him with something, or submit him when GSP lands that takedown towards the end of the round. His gameplan against Shields was Jab and strike from the outside, and then shoot for a takedown with 10 or 15 seconds left in the round. It works, but it sucks.
@SkyrimOwns gsp will not throw anything that puts him in a position to get countered and he definitely wont get submitted idk what gameplan nick will utililize but it better be a good one plus gsp is a far better athelete more conditioned much larger and stronger and faster but anything can happen in mma just like when i can remember his name but that short guy from ny caught him with a good punch and beat him
I agree, GSP is a big 170 and pretty much has as much muscle as he can in that weight division.. he looks a whole division larger then Shields and he can keep a consistent pace without gassing.. I think he can beat Nick Diaz by a UD unless Diaz catches him with something before then.
@SkyrimOwns Nick is not a better striker then gsp and gsp will fight Nicks got some power but not as much as he he chases gsp or puts his and down hes gonna eat a lead left kick to the face or get his face jabed to shit
I like Thiago, but he needs to be more aggressive! shit, dude is the pitbull right? He needs 2 improve his wrestling/grappling skills. He needs to figure out how to make GSP and Jon Bitch play his game, like he did with a ...Josh Krotchcheck lol. Stop being such a nie guy and bash peoples head in with your fuckin knees like u did 2 Matt Hughes. Let it go Thiago!
@abudiaby43 umm..if he was better than GSP... then he would have the belt instead of GSP...and he would have beaten Jhon Fitch..who is the only other WW in the UFC who really deserves another shot to fight him..Alvez is a beast..and i very much enjoyed his fight with GSP..cause he came for the belt and put up a damn good fight..GSP is too much for him..he needs some more training and he wont be far from being able to get the belt
put him up against Diaz. Maybe Diaz might actually learn some techniques and have something to think about while he's in the hospital

Even with showing only the Thiago highlights in the GSP match it still makes Thiago look bad. GSP highlights in that fight would make Silva look novice.

thiago and nick diaz are the only guys at 170 that could beat gsp
felino850 9 months ago
1:17 like a mothafuckin' boss!
DeathDragonforce 9 months ago
Best striker in that division, if he gets himself a solid ground game, works on his guillotine and takedown defense he could give GSP some trouble, like he did in their last fight.. Not that it will matter, because Nick Diaz is going to finish GSP when they fight.
SkyrimOwns 9 months ago
@SkyrimOwns gsp will eat that skinny motherfucker nick diaz are you serious?
mrbong123 9 months ago
@mrbong123
GSP couldn't finish K1 Jake Shields with a striking arsenal of 3 strikes, he couldn't finish a blind Josh Koscheck, and he doesn't know how to fight to win anymore... He fights not to lose, he doesn't fight to win.
SkyrimOwns 9 months ago
@SkyrimOwns whether u like his fighting style or not he is undeniably hard to beat
mrbong123 9 months ago
@mrbong123
SkyrimOwns 9 months ago
@SkyrimOwns gsp will not throw anything that puts him in a position to get countered and he definitely wont get submitted idk what gameplan nick will utililize but it better be a good one plus gsp is a far better athelete more conditioned much larger and stronger and faster but anything can happen in mma just like when i can remember his name but that short guy from ny caught him with a good punch and beat him
mrbong123 9 months ago
@mrbong123
I agree, GSP is a big 170 and pretty much has as much muscle as he can in that weight division.. he looks a whole division larger then Shields and he can keep a consistent pace without gassing.. I think he can beat Nick Diaz by a UD unless Diaz catches him with something before then.
SkyrimOwns 9 months ago
@SkyrimOwns lol matt serra that was his name who tko'd gsp
mrbong123 9 months ago

Let it go Thiago!
mikestylz96 9 months ago 6
@mikestylz96 His wrestling seemed to have improved from his last fight

alves his better than gsp he is the world champion of ufc
abudiaby43 9 months ago
@abudiaby43 umm..if he was better than GSP... then he would have the belt instead of GSP...and he would have beaten Jhon Fitch..who is the only other WW in the UFC who really deserves another shot to fight him..Alvez is a beast..and i very much enjoyed his fight with GSP..cause he came for the belt and put up a damn good fight..GSP is too much for him..he needs some more training and he wont be far from being able to get the belt
ilovechevy1 9 months ago
Thiago is a beast. Its shows how good GSP is technically to be able to beat him.
