this band is bad. i thought the singer was a straight up rasta from jamaica cuz the way he sings. I love his voice, its touching and roots sings from the heart
Hilarious, every comment I read here was trying to judge this great artist in a negative way, exactly the FUCKING OPPOSITE MESSAGE HE WAS TRYING TO SEND!
People are arguing here about his accent, many defending it saying his race isn't an issue, which is true. But his accent has nothing to do with his race. His accent also shouldn't be an issue, but it is clear to Harrison Stafford himself that it is.If he's making good music with a good message why force a Jamaican accent? The music and the message are both great, but for me the message is tainted by the the falseness.
@rmcdonag the color of skin has nothing to do with race ether. its skull structure...eye, ear and nose placement NOT PIGMENT that determines what race you are.....people are so confused and backwards!!
and his accent isnt rasta... there practically from Canada people!
i see lots of bad minds who truly NEED this music yet i see you mock it...while you suck on some lolly pops and talk about how BOSS you are...you money hungry slaves of babylon!
@BlessedGanja It's obvious he's not from Jamaica, but he's definitely trying to have a twang in his accent. It's certainly not the same as his bandmates'. I also enjoy his music and I think it's highly judgemental to assume I have a 'bad mind' because of my opinion on his forced accent, and also patronising to say that I 'NEED' this music. You appear to have severe resentment for what who are assuming are 'slaves of babylon'. I think you yourself aren't hearing his message properly yourself.
@trobuff86 lol....forcing and having a natural accent from a sournding element is two different things...i have jamacian friends and they sound NOTHING like harrison! its called patwa not twang!! your uneducated angry and spiteful...your judging a man because of the vibration his mouth creates grow the fuck up!
@BlessedGanja Where I live a 'twang' is a term for an unusual, often foreign, element to an accent. And patwa isn't an accent, it's a creole language. I assure you I'm neither hateful or spiteful. He can have any accent he wants, but I see a forced accent as a sign of poor self-identification and falsity. My judgement is not based on his accent, but his choice to adopt one. Also, by your exclamation marks and use of profanity suggests that you're quite angry. Relax. Have a cup of tea.

Yes indeed. Dont get me wrong. I really like Groundation, but the lead vocals are really anoying after 3 or 4 tracks. I think they should change the lead vocals or have more variation.
I get this feedback from almost everybody who listens to them.
stafford is like the geddy lee of reggae. hes super groovy and has a unique voice. also, he does a great job of conveying the emotion he feels towards the subjects of his songs
yup....lion in de jungle jungle lion in de jungle jungle jungle....dude is from wine country! the fake jamaican accent is disturbing. no respect what so ever. im sure most black people are feelin me....white folks will probably never get it. go ahead spam me off ;)
Groundation has some sisters in the Band yo... And by the way I think Music isn't about color.. Its not like white people only can play country and blacks rap. You ever heard of Yellow Man? Or John Pride? Is Eminem fake? You should take a deep look at your self not your color of skin but you soul. Then maybe you can see others souls not the color of their skin.
@BP3DP yea. and this band plays roots, they are rasta, i know black people who dont listen to reggae so you definetly dont have to be black or jamaican to be a part of this culture or set of beliefs.
I respect your freedom to say what you want, but I disagree. I saw The Wailers and that was about the worst reggae show that I have seen, WHY? because people forget that this music is about His Imperial Majesty and not about MONEY and NOTORIETY and the trappings of Babylon. Let this man give Jah message to the massive. He genuinely loves Jah and has a talent for music. if you dont like it, dont buy the albums and concert tickets, but its a bit harsh to disrespect both blacks and whites so.

i like the way groundation play their music, but they would be far more popular and acceptable if they change their lead vocals.
