Seen all 10 episodes..great job you won the day! Few questions: Wasnt the finish way too high? or was there a minimum altitude set for the finish? Did you use SeeYouMobile for helping to get as much distance as possible in the AAT task? SYM is known to be a great help for that, but I did not see you using SYM a lot. Very smart to keep high and try to fly straight ahead as much as possible,, You know it.. while circling half the time you fly BACKWARDS! and that is bad for your average speed.
@PH588BU Wow - you made it through all of the episodes! :) The finish minimum height was 500 feet above the ground for this contest. Yes, used SeeYou mobile. Did not use the SYM feature. Need to get to know that feature better. Thanks will look. Thanks for the support and I have posted a bunch more videos since this one. Enjoy! Bruno
@bviv I am going to fly more contests next season (the 2011 season allmost ends here in Holland) allways good to see how others do that. Beside that.. I love the scenery you guys fly in!. just go over my Youtube account and see how we fly here :).. I have done allmost 300km between 1200 and 3000 ft above ground!
I have seen some of your other video's as well, very nice.. the Thunderstorm video you posted last week was spectacular!
@Nitraat154 Not a bad question. The ASW-20's ailerons move with different flap settings. You land in positive flap setting just like an airplane and then move to negative flap setting on rollout to get the ailerons to deflect upwards more and give you more control authority. I know I didn't explain it very well but it works great. :) Bruno
I'm just a student pilot myself, so it's interesting to see how a contest is flown from start to finish. Never seen an entire contest from the cockpit before, and I'm learning a lot from just watching and your comments along the way.

I have a small question, why do you change your flapsetting during rollout? Could you roll further down the runway?
Kind regards

@bviv Alright, so at low speeds you can control your wings more easily with negative flaps, thanks!

it was very interesting to be your guest on this amazing gliding flight.

Great vid. So much lift everywhere. I only dream of such conditions in soggy England. Thanks.

That was absolutely a very educational set of videos on flying ridge lift and the use of thermal lift. Thanks for putting it up on U tube.
