This is a song that was originally sung by Dionne Warwick and pulled in a nasty custody battle between Dionne and Bacharach. Such a shame that they parted company because there was pure magic with the two.
I first heard this track on a various artists compilation put out by Sony Music called "Beyond the Sea: 50 Summer Classics" . Did same thing as ttdsgnr5 , kept re-playing it until I got it out of my system for the day. Catchy tune. Herb Alpert did an OK brass take of this tune, & there was also a version from the Roger Nichols Trio... slower, breezy tempo and only a few seconds longer. Still good though. A japanese trio called Springs has also done a nice take. This one's the best though :).
I first heard this on a Hotel music loop when I was on holiday with my parents in Majorca in the early '70's. It came on the radio in the room nearly every two hours. I used to rush back to the room just to hear it!! FABULOUS!
This is my favorite Burt Bacharach song. I love most but this one is my favorite. However, I wish it was longer. Then again, most songs from that era were about this long. I remedied that by putting it on repeat on my CD player a couple of times.
This is great, so cute and groovy, I almost thought it was an original version of the song that Elton John and Kikki Dee sang. But nope. Such crystal sound and a great image. Love your background on your page, it's like three-dimensional. :D
When I was 17 - I fell into Burt Bacharach's music

Nice but Dionne Warwick sang a version of this song whose only flaw is that it is too short...
