@mustang633NY Yes they were good on fuel. Worst mileage I ever got was mid-20s. They were geared very high, something like 2.80 if I remember correctly. Slow as hell off the line and up to speed but would roll down the road at 80mph all day long getting around 30mpg.
@kclm7 Let me correct my last statement. The worst mpg I ever got was 18mpg. I was thinking of the tank size which was 26 gallons. The worst mpg was achieved once when I let it sit all day long idling when it was super cold outside.
@mustang633NY I had a 85 Delta 88 2-door with the 307. It felt fast compared to the diesel but I would take the fuel injected diesel over the carbed 307. I could run that diesel hard down the road regardless of outside temp. The 307 would vapor lock if I drove it hard when the outside temp was high. By hard I don't mean hot rodding, I mean driving at high interstate speeds for long periods of time.
why would you do that to such a nice car i want to buy it.

I used to own a 1983 & 1984 Delta 88 diesel. As I recall, they were anything but powerful!! I

@kclm7 my best tank average was 18mpg with the gasoline 307 and overdrive trans.
