I'm learning Rhythm Changes right now and I simply can't stay away from these excellent videos! Thanks learning these etudes so well and posting them; it's amazing how much Joe Pass is concentrated in these exercises! Many people see only as a solo guitarist but I've always enjoyed his single note lines more than anything else! A true jazz monster. Keep up the good work and don't let anyone tell you these exercises are anything less than they truly are.
Hey! Thanks for posting this! I really appreciate the work it takes to get these videos up :) The playing is great. Your guitars are beautiful, and your interpretations are pretty awesome. I'm astonished at the amount of trash talk you get despite your simple mission here. Keep posting, friend!
ps. I really like your tone in this recording. You have a lot of different colors between all of your videos, but this one is smooth, round, and just.. mmm!
Man..Thanks for posted this stuff, I have learned much, from your playing and the chord changes. And aa nice 175, I'm guessin' by the pickups and yellow switch knob it's a 56?
While learning, it is not uncommon to forget a bit to get tone, or to have the right amount of swing, or to relax...this is natural and a consequence of concentrating on note selection and chord coverage, scale family, correct minor/major status, choices for dominants, etc. Once the note choice matter becomes trivial, tone and swing bounce right back, and, in fact, can become paramount--note you are "training muscle memory", but you can still change style aspects
Wow... You even look like Joe Pass. Great stuff! One of my favourite guitarists for sure. You are a great teacher. I wish you lived in Vancouver, Canada, so I can take lessons from you! BTW, do you play Django's music?

In short, how would describe the tone of the P-90's with the wood bridge verses the more traditional ES-175 ? Thanks, Brian
