The problem with prediction of this fault zone is, we simply don't know it's history--we don't know when the last time (or last several times) before 1812 it let go-- because obviously the only people around then were Native Americans, and they left us with no records with dates.
Since this intraplate fault zone moves far more slowly than tectonic plate boundary zones like Cascadia, the best answer is the 1895 6.0 and the recent 5-ish earthquakes are still aftershocks of the 1811-1812 quakes.
Common sense, and basic disaster preparedness, are what is needed. For any potential disaster, people should have enough water (gallon per day per person, more for pets) for several days at least, canned food (and manual opener), other food that doesn't need power to cook, needed medications, etc. Be ready to support yourself, just in case. Same as people in hurricane states are supposed to do (and some do).

The 5.6--5.8 Earthquake in Oklahoma a couple of month ago was a wake up call for people who had never experienced an Earthquake.
That Earthquake was the strongest one in the central part of the U.S. since the New Madrid quake in 1895.
I don't know if it's Prophecy being fulfilled or the law of averages catching up but it was still something that had never happened in or near that area in recorded history.

You won't find a measurement for the December 1811-January 1812 New Madrid earthquake series - the technology did not exist to do so. Go to the USGS website. They refer to the quake as a "failed continental rift". They also cite the earth beneath the Mississippi shifting, causing the river to change flow in six areas. Earthquakes are part of the history of our planet. We, and it, are finite.

On this program they showed a map that will be the United States within the next few years either from a plate falling into the Pacific or from rising ocean levels. It was actually three major quakes not four as far as I know and the last quake was in the mag 8.4 range the united states has yet to suffer a mag 9 quake though if you look on the usgs web site the fault has been very active lately, also there was a mag 6 quake along the new madrid seismic zone in the mid 60's

I can't find info on a 9.0 recorded on New Madrid in history anywhere. Also, highest earthquake recorded on history is Chile @ 9.5, Alaska 9.2, Aleutian Islands 9.1, then Japan @ 9.0, Kamchatka 9.0, Indonesia 9.0, Ecuador 8.8...

@jeneig8ht Check with the USGS movies on the New Madrid and the USGS website. They provide a lot of info. Also visit the region and look at the size of the lakes it created. Reel Foot and Lake Cato. It's the physcial evidence that the USGS uses to determine the size. But you are right the size of the quake is questionable but yet undeniable in other regards. Thanks for the comments.
@jeneig8ht thats because of the date. all those quakes you mentioned happened after 1900. the new madrid quakes were back in the early 1800s, in a sparsely populated area at the time. They were strong quakes, and likely were above 8.0 magnitude, perhaps as high as 9.0 . The national geological service only gives the minimum that the earthquake could have been based on its affects, since there were no seismometers there back then
@zachfresh: No one knows for certain where the next stress fracture will occur however there has been a small earthquake almost on a daily basis in Greenbrier, AR since the first of the year! I would not want to live in that town for sure! According to history the damage done in Ohio was minimal like busting a chimney. You got the magnitudes all wrong. The New Madrid fault isn't even big enough to produce a magnitude 9. It isn't long enough to resonate to that extent. In fact 7.6 is the largest possible quake from the New Madrid without fault linking. Early estimates of damage said they could have been 8.0 but now with new science we know this was impossible. They quakes are now estimated to have been, 7.1, 7.1,6.9, 7.2 respectively.

The 5.6--5.8 Earthquake in Oklahoma a couple of month ago was a wake up call for people who had never experienced an Earthquake.
That Earthquake was the strongest one in the central part of the U.S. since the New Madrid quake in 1895.
I don't know if it's Prophecy being fulfilled or the law of averages catching up but it was still something that had never happened in or near that area in recorded history.

You won't find a measurement for the December 1811-January 1812 New Madrid earthquake series - the technology did not exist to do so. Go to the USGS website. They refer to the quake as a "failed continental rift". They also cite the earth beneath the Mississippi shifting, causing the river to change flow in six areas. Earthquakes are part of the history of our planet. We, and it, are finite.

On this program they showed a map that will be the United States within the next few years either from a plate falling into the Pacific or from rising ocean levels. Washington State was gone along with Oregon California Nevada Idaho and parts of Arizona. I live in Las Vegas,NV so it struck me fast. IDK if I believe it but just sharing

It was actually three major quakes not four as far as I know and the last quake was in the mag 8.4 range the united states has yet to suffer a mag 9 quake though if you look on the usgs web site the fault has been very active lately, also there was a mag 6 quake along the new madrid seismic zone in the mid 60's

@zackrowe1 There was a major quake, The land sunk so deep it formed the Reel Foot Lake in Tennesse/Kentucky and Lake Cato in North Eastern Texas, The Mississippi ran backwards for three days, it rang church bells in Boston. It was for real! The founder of the Audobon Society documented it in the 1800's.

I can't find info on a 9.0 recorded on New Madrid in history anywhere. Also, highest earthquake recorded on history is Chile @ 9.5, Alaska 9.2, Aleutian Islands 9.1, then Japan @ 9.0, Kamchatka 9.0, Indonesia 9.0, Ecuador 8.8...

@jeneig8ht Check with the USGS movies on the New Madrid and the USGS website. They provide a lot of info. Also visit the region and look at the size of the lakes it created. Reel Foot and Lake Cato. It's the physcial evidence that the USGS uses to determine the size. But you are right the size of the quake is questionable but yet undeniable in other regards. Thanks for the comments.

@jeneig8ht thats because of the date. all those quakes you mentioned happened after 1900. the new madrid quakes were back in the early 1800s, in a sparsely populated area at the time. They were strong quakes, and likely were above 8.0 magnitude, perhaps as high as 9.0 . The national geological service only gives the minimum that the earthquake could have been based on its affects, since there were no seismometers there back then

@zachfresh: No one knows for certain where the next stress fracture will occur however there has been a small earthquake almost on a daily basis in Greenbrier, AR since the first of the year! I would not want to live in that town for sure! According to history the damage done in Ohio was minimal like busting a chimney. Have no fear Zachfresh just trust in the creator God who made us all and looks over us everyday. It's gonna be alright!

Excellent video ! You have so much important information, in service to all. My issue is that it is very hard to hear you with the music and sound effects-the bass. Some people have hearing issues.... I had to replay this a few times, and still could not catch a few words...the second half seems clearer, or you spoke louder...Regardless. I'm amazed by all of these post about a New Madrid earthquake..I'm a believer (not claiming to be a prophet..practiced law 25 yrs)and i had a dream about this issue the other night. And I've never even thought about the matter before the dream..In the dream there was a massive earthquake..It happened as hurricane was approaching New Orleans again..Like in the 1812 quake the MS river flowed backwards.This time creating a salt water sea in the center of the country ..Hope it was just a dream

@zzzodc If such an event does happen..It could relate to Israel..However, I think God plans to destroy the gambling casinos along the gulf coast and up the MS river to St Louis..Memphis and Desoto County Ms are on high bluffs and will be spared the high waters, but suffer earthquake damage.. (And both their counties voted against legalized gambling)..I believe Katrina was a an unheeded warning in this regard...And it obviously will be very devastating to the country as a whole in many ways...

@dburlison1 oh its going to happen, thats a scientific fact.. but we will endure. im fairly lucky here, although ive literally weathered out about 10 hurricanes and TS's.. i prepare well for what i can, and as soon as they sign evacuation orders, they amend it that the fuel industry workers can stay, so fuel is back soon.. but as long as you stay off highways, or stay in your own neighborhood they dont "force" your exodus. im happy we have NLE practice, and 'preparedness' for national emergency

I studied geology as my science in college and the New Madrid first came to me at that time '60-'61. With all that we see going on now, I'm concerned that something may be coming soon to the area. It's amazing how many people have been conned into believing that the Earth will soon be passing through the galactic plane when our solar system lies several dozen light-years north of the galactic plane and it's also moving away from it at something like 7 kilometers per second. @clarkewi christians dont think that the 10 commandments are in effect but they .the 10 are a moral code.it must be followed.but people cant be without their hloidays like christmas and easter.its sad becuase people that are sincere and need a way to come out of their world life.then they go to church and the church indoctrinates them .and before you know it they will go back to the world .i hate organized religion!

You got the magnitudes all wrong. The New Madrid fault isn't even big enough to produce a magnitude 9. It isn't long enough to resonate to that extent. In fact 7.6 is the largest possible quake from the New Madrid without fault linking. Early estimates of damage said they could have been 8.0 but now with new science we know this was impossible. They quakes are now estimated to have been, 7.1, 7.1,6.9, 7.2 respectively.

@ThePlaywrightsPuppet Thanks for that info,I'll look into it. I was told that the Mississippi River ran backwards for three days. That certainly took some energy but 9 is 8000x's stronger than a 7 so your right there would be a big difference. God bless.

Know for fact the NAVY part of HAARP has been stationed and preparing for at least 2 years I know of for a mission in the Gulf hanging out around Miss. same crew was also in Japan during 07 Japan quake.
Also, where BP drilled helped make the fault even more unstable and they knew that the repairs were not going to work. I got that from an oil person now overseas. Wake up people please!
