And repentance is not a prayer, it's not a temporarily emotion. It's a permanent change of heart, a lifechanging decision. The prayer is finding the right way, actions and belief are the walking of that narrow path. Your actions are the proof of how truthful that prayer was.

No, I won't re-create God to suit my purpose. I know I am here to serve him and repent of my sins and to not live with sin in my life. I have a Biblical point of view as I was raised attending a Lutheran church. I will always fear and respect God, but I also feel that I can turn to him with any problem. I find Joel Osteen very positive and uplifting. He does not indoctrinate, but encourages his viewers to find a more content and spiritual path. I am a believer of Christ and find him to be a very loving, forgiving savior. He has helped me find peace even in the most troublesome times.

I am, with scripture. The Bible states in the verse I cited below that the gospel is irritating to those who hear it and do not know Him. Elsewhere in scripture, it states that it is "convicting to Jews and foolishness to gentiles". If one who is an atheist is hearing what is supposed to be the preaching of the word of God, and is not either offended or convicted, it's not truly the word of God being preached.
It doesn't have to, that is not what the scripture means. What it is saying, is that conviction and offense are natural responses of unsaved persons to the preaching of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. If Mr Osteen were preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ as it was meant to be preached, he would not have anywhere near the following he currently has. Even Jesus had some of His own followers leave Him for a message that was more palatable to their ears.
Read John 6:28-69 for a story on how the gospel is irritating by nature. As I said above, even Jesus had followers depart from Him because His message didn't agree with their sensibilities.

The Gospel is not: 'repent of your sins'. People made it that way. Its more: 'Through Jesus God provide forgiveness, healing, abundance, overflow, peace and joy'. Will you accept it? It is the goodness of God that lead us to repentance (Rom 2:4). So the goodness of God will lead you to repentance, not first the repenetance and after that the blessing. But first the blessing, than te repentance. When the boat of Peter was full with fish, he repent. Not before.. We dont have to agree..

No, I won't re-create God to suit my purpose. I know I am here to serve him and repent of my sins and to not live with sin in my life. I have a Biblical point of view as I was raised attending a Lutheran church. I will always fear and respect God, but I also feel that I can turn to him with any problem. I find Joel Osteen very positive and uplifting. He does not indoctrinate, but encourages his viewers to find a more content and spiritual path. I am a believer of Christ and find him to be a very loving, forgiving savior. He has helped me find peace even in the most troublesome times.

Now, it is written if you don t open your mouth wide to warn the sheep of that God will destroy the wicked, then you will be accountable for their souls, all of them. I am, with scripture. The Bible states in the verse I cited below that the gospel is irritating to those who hear it and do not know Him. Elsewhere in scripture, it states that it is "convicting to Jews and foolishness to gentiles". If one who is an atheist is hearing what is supposed to be the preaching of the word of God, and is not either offended or convicted, it's not truly the word of God being preached.

It doesn't have to, that is not what the scripture means. What it is saying, is that conviction and offense are natural responses of unsaved persons to the preaching of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. If Mr Osteen were preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ as it was meant to be preached, he would not have anywhere near the following he currently has. Even Jesus had some of His own followers leave Him for a message that was more palatable to their ears.

BEFORE: A man can be save from falling to the water before drowning (by grabbing him). Like Jesus saved Mary from any sin from conception to her assumption into heaven
AFTER: A man who is already in the water not yet drown (saints in the making ala Mother Teresa) or had drowned (like us compulsive sinners) not yet dead but has been given CPR and resuscitated many times (which is equivalent to our Confessions, Good Works, etc.)

The Gospel is not: 'repent of your sins'. People made it that way. Its more: 'Through Jesus God provide forgiveness, healing, abundance, overflow, peace and joy'. Will you accept it? It is the goodness of God that lead us to repentance (Rom 2:4). So the goodness of God will lead you to repentance, not first the repenetance and after that the blessing. But first the blessing, than te repentance. When the boat of Peter was full with fish, he repent. Not before.. We dont have to agree..

Joel is a great speaker. He does not share the Gospel. He only tells us how to be a better person. If you want to be "more than conquerors thru Christ Jesus," read the passage in CONTEXT. Romans 8:35-39. "In all these things we are more than conquerors thru Christ Jesus," What are these things that Joel Osteen never talks about?

You can tell he doesn't want to lose any money donors. He wants to keep on propping them up until they die and face God, while building his $1.2 million estate upon the bones of his congregation. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. His new age positive messages for prosperity are damning more people to hell than any other. How dare he twists the scriptures lest he be like Satan! Don't fear lost of congregation but FEAR God who can kill you and throw you into Hell. Preach the true gospel!

I feel that he is a great pastor, and prompting the church the give is nothing bad.About his interview that he did not want to talk about heaven and blah blah blah on national tv...comeon....its not only Christians that watch TV yah know...well....he is doing a great Job...and you guys are wasting your time writing this hate msgs

I really love the way Joel explains things. His book "Your Best Life Now" is probably the most inspiring book on the market. Great read and a must to have!
