This music piece is relaxing don't you think? 500,000 people -give or take- do leave quite a mess. Especially considering the rain messed up what they would have taken back with them. Remember? - there was a 45 minute deluge. A few bulldozers etc came there - no one was mad about it. Notice Earth Day began the following April. All was not lost on this. But Jimi's music here - this piece - is quite smooth and relaxing.
@MsKoali, what happened at Woodstock was just a taste of what will happen to all Mankind very soon. But that experience should to pay the price to be just a warning and not a complete reality. As a fact Woodstock will never return. But as a warning to all Mankind Woodstock will never die and will always be present until all Mankind, planetary, accomplish the Human Communion. That's what I think and feel about that magic moment. mis besos ps: sorry my poor English

Have a good day!
i feel like the clip "long time coming" with them setting up woodstock an all....is the 60s..and this clip is today......don't ask me cuz i can't explain exactly what that means...peace
its weird how a lotta bands are studio only, then you come across some Jimi where it seems he was more of a "live" only. so much great stuff not recorded
I don't know about all you people ,but it looks like everybody in this woodstock clip treated eating like a chore.Theyr'e all skinnyed-out!I know it was party time and what not through the '60's,got an older brother that grew up in the tail end of the 60's,but what gives?I would have starved to death if I had to go through the 60's;)
@bkings1957 Jason, I'm 60, I lived and played with Jimi , Credence, Vanilla Fudge, I'm Tommy and covered many of the greats when they were sick, drunk and could not do it. We lived when you were a baby, and your mommy, was a great mom! It was a time! Your time now....I still have my guitars....Make us all Proud!
@bkings1957 when you are high/drunk/both and surfing on the fabric of reality, doing something as mundane as cleaning up rubbish doesn't even cross your mind. Not out of reckless abandon, just because it simply doesnt matter when you are in that mindset.
I think this recording really shows how far hendrix had to go at this point still. Listening to this compared to the rainbow bridge concert you can really see how much more comfortable and smoother he got with modal soloing.
@welkerama well it's great don't get me wrong I'm a huge hendrix fan... but there's alot of times he slides in and out of the modality that he's jammin on and he just doesn't seem as confident with it to me as compared to some of his later stuff like the rainbow bridge concert (Hey Baby in particular perhaps)
@ianblackwoodmusic he is not slidin out he is just using all the boundaries there are to use maybe you dont understand some of them yet but he was way way ahead musically than most human beeings he would melt sound that you would think would not sound good and stiil make a statement thats why he will always be ! one what he did was blend jazz rock and blues and other cultural things like indian music all together in one may sound out of tune sometim but you get the same in jazz
@blackdude57 well it's all just opinion obviously... We can't know how hendrix imagined the song in his mind... but like, at 1:42 he suggests phrygian.....why? he's jammin on dorian for most of the song.... maybe he wanted that sound... maybe it was a flub.... who knows. i personally don't like that phrase and I think his later live material shows him understanding modality better as opposed to just pentatonic blues soloing so i just think he had alot of room to grow still
@ianblackwoodmusic Im a music teacher at the local academy and I can teel you non of the graduates can ever never ever imagine whta jimi hendrix is all about when you say dorian and phrygian you sound as some of those academics (no insult0 just a plane comparence its about opening the universe of sounds to every human beeing heaaling the sick and making people feel good thats was Jimi you have a drivers license but you cannot manage a 6 seconds race car thats Jimi hendrix accept it
@blackdude57 dont worry about my comments im 54 years old man just do as I told you get a 2000 odd power amp and two stack of 350 watts each turn it on put this soundtrack on and sit in the middle of it and enjoy it
@ianblackwoodmusic this was only a jam at the end of woodstock he was the last band and they were very tired they went up at sunrise and he closed the damn shit after waiting for 2 days in a leaking car in the rain they were not millionares then he was just a good musician at that time and he was just flowing with that moment
@blackdude57 you guys are all arguing over a totally different topic...... i never said it's not a nice jam. i never said i wouldn't rather hear hendrix pouring out his soul on a jam than some technically perfect and usually boring as hell guitar solo. just said i thought there was obvious room that he grew between this and later stuff. i don't know why you seem so offended that hendrix go tbetter over time. i just thought it was interesting how much he grew in such a short time
@ianblackwoodmusic Jimi surpassed all modalities and rules the talking rule the playing rule the gesture rule and the stage rule remember he burned a guitar onstage man and broke it in pieces threw it to the public who had done that before so now he slides out of phrygian and enters Pussy you have to admire him for that
The song is outstanding. The producer's choice of showing people slugging through the mud cleaning up garbage as opposed to showing Jimi playing the song? That's idiotic.
@atfatw yea dude, you totallly nailed it. like woah your right. all of those thousands of people all listening to music for days with no problems. no violence, no homocide, no nothing. yea they didnt change the world or anything. damn.......dude you are soo cool for insulting a peice of history that changed the world. sick bro.

Dear @bkings1957, excuse my very poor English!
I think that those years were a light and a dream about the Humankind's potential!
Something pure and naive, something that couldn't survive!
I think that all the mess that followed those times only gave us the true ways that we must follow without any illusion!
Now we have plans to conquer the real potential, we know finally how do it - and we will do it soon!
One more time excuse my poor English - The dream will become reality, soon!
