It´s kind of fun, the discussion about Tarja VS Anette. Everyone knows that Tarja had great lacks of speaking english, and also singing. Talking about opera her singing wasn´t very bad! You should look for ALYSON AVENNUE , anettes band before nightwish. Great music, in the style of AOR, from Sweden.

I'm sweidhs, and that may have to do with why I sympathize with Anette.

People say she's a pop singer, wth? She has a wonderful voice, when she sings songs that were written correctly for her voice. Her trying to sing Tarija's songs is like you trying on someone else's shoes, they don't always fit.

I understand people miss Tarija, and she did have a uniquely beautiful voice. But people should stop attacking Anette IMO. She just voulenteered and she was picked.

We're talking about pop styling... modern singing. Look up some history on music. The "popular" styles of music have changed. Tarja was trained classically, so she has what's called a "classical singing style." Has to do with the WAY it's sung.

Personally, I'm torn. I compare this to Fred and Ginger breaking up. Good individually but not the same as when together. O well. I still am a big NW fan though NW has lost a bit of originality and Tarja now has crappy background music.

You cant be more wrong. The drums are extremely basic and easy, all of the songs ever written and performed. The guitars as well, even a little more advanced but still I know at least 10 people who are more skilled. The only thing that is advanced is the keyboard play, which is, extremely good.

emppu and marco dont do difficult stuff either, every beginner can do what they do (instruments, not vocals), however they still sound great. and jukka is actually kind of good in my oppinion, not the great but good

yeah but everyone now and then Emppu pulls out a guitar solo, and one I heard on the new album was pretty good and not something a beginner would do. Also yeah Marco does play some pretty simple bass parts but if once again on the new album he is playing some more difficult stuff, and I Jukka does some fast double bass work on it as well but that is still not that hard in my opinion. 'Does sound good though'
