The only way it could go back to how nature intended is to stop ALL irrigation from the river, don't see that happening anytime soon. Too much water is withdrawn from the Murray for it to go back to an estuarine system...

This is a f@cking disgrace when are we going to stop the practice of irrigating farming that is not only damaging but not economically viable..obviously we need the water for other things.

What a sad and disgusting condition. It maddens me to see how the politics and money controls life like this and the wildlife always suffer. When are humans going to learn that they can not turn everything into money! Remove all the humans and their greed and the River and lakes will recover--humans are the piece of the puzzle that does not fit. Sadly, in the short term, money and power will win and wildlife will loose...in the end the humans will die out and nature will rule again.

Truly appalling. Good luck and all power to everyone involved in the campaign to save the turtles and maintain environmental flows for the long-suffering Murray Darling system. It is unbelievable that succesive govts have not fixed the problem yet or at least reversed the policy decisions creating it.
