  • 13 people doesn't want to go in paraiso :( that was awful

  • galing!!! nakakaiyal po!!!naka2awa mga bata<<

  • astig!

  • to verbal: you can't say that this version is not right. It depends on how they want to it sing, and besides... this is "The Philippine Madrigal Singers" they are very well acknowledge by choirs, musicians all over the world.

  • some people just don't get it!

this version IS a commentary on the philippine social and political landscape and is therefore meant to be sung in a staccato, heavily "accented" tempo, if you will! It's not only meant to make people "feel", but moreso to get them to ACT, and act NOW! So, please, stop comparing it with other, "softer","more angelic","more heartfelt", etc. versions...just not right.

  • @verbval: nagawa na naman nila yan nung concert nila sa St. Vincent Ferrer. the rendition was better in terms of interpretation. :) that's my personal favorite! :) pero wala naman msydong difference sa interp. stronger and with more conviction lang talaga yung solo sa bagong recording. :)

  • to angelanglia:

"it is about the paraiso or paradise, that is, the environment of pollution, hunger, etc....":)

    more pwer!

  • we sang this song in our choir too. just a little different piece though... we are not as good as them. they are the best!!!!

  • it's always not important who sang this song, but the message it gives us,and what we learned from it...great rendition guys!

  • LORD JESUS CHRIST said "man does not it on "bread" alone".So, who are the actual poor people in life1) The physically hungry (bread, water, etc)? or2) The spiritually hungry (not having LORD JESUS CHRIST in their life; that person who has the feeling of guilt! That person who cannot forgive! That person who has all the material position, but are not happy with their life! etc., That person who cannot sleep at night! etc "What benefit a man, when he gains the whole world and loses his own soul...

  • wala q masabeng negative.. perfect tlga keo.. inspirasyon ng choir namen keo..

  • Is it in Tagalog? Sorry.. i don't understand the language..what do the lyrics and the video tell about?

  • paraiso means paradise

  • it's english genius...

  • Im really a proud filipino because of your songs and performances. you are the best. cheers

  • hehe

    Madz- Choir of the Universe

  • MADZ and UST are both great!

I think we should better leave it that way. Let us stop comparing (more on degrading one group) them.

Contesting on who is BEST will always result to subjective judgement...

JUST BE PROUD BOTH GROUPS ARE GREAT!!!

    PEACE!

  • the song is relaxing...

  • really im so in love with the song :)

  • oh my God! my heart really cries with the video! T_T

  • im filipino white. and i enjoyed going there last summer. i want to go there again ):

ndi ako ngmamarunong pero sa pkinig ng simpleng nkikinig eh aun opinion ko ^^

  • i love this song... it goes straight to the soul... kakakilabot...

  • 20 years from now mapupuno na ang metro manila ng basura!

  • ppppaaaarrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiissssssssssssoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gling nla nakaka iyak ung song at rmdam u ung meaning ng songs d k2lad ng ibang choir glgn nyo madz lav u

  • i felt sad to see my beloved country go down the drain. if you will look back 20 years, 30 years ago. pinas is much better place to live. there gone were the people with a bright ideas that can lead our nation to a brighter future.... kakalungkot.... im hoping im still......

  • Bravo to the Madrigal Singers

  • you when i heard tragedies i don't realy care. but seeing picstures or videos like this it made you care and cry.

  • kudos to the Phil. Madrigal singers! keep on giving our country pride.

the people in the gov't needs to see this video...if they still have some conscience left in their beings they'll be moved by the video...i hope they still have even a little..

  • i doubt it if they'll be moved. you dont need to hear sad soundtracks and see sad pictures so see how dire the situation in our country is... its all about the money. period. im not sayin gall of them, but the system it self it plorifirated by people who lives by the doctrine of money not service.

  • ryan cayabyab is a genius for writing this song. just like what i saw in a jeepney mudguard in greenhills " from the ashes of my monumental failure shall rise the empire of my success."

this song captured the world by portraying what the filipinos are about, we may be living in garbage (figuratively and literally) but we can soar despite where we are.

  • Philippines is a very BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY but the

corrupted politicians are ruining the beauty of the country!

  • not only in the Philipines, my friend, but also in my country too. Seems their agenda only includes entrance to that office; not the responsibility that accompanies it. I also watched Lea Salonga's version. I enjoy both.

  • @rivergotme most of it's people are corrupted as wlll. They know nothing but to make sound but not make solutions

  • perfect! you guys make me proud to be a filipino.. thanks..

  • you know guy you're all wasting your time comparing these two fantastic groups. and besides they're both filipinos so there's no need of competition. lets just be happy for the good work our sisters and brothers had done. i guess they all do it for one reason to place our name above every other nation. they are both good at their own rights. we're all filipino's no need to compare instead let's give they more support to continue their good job in singing. kaya PEACE na okay!!!

  • huwag kayong ganyan let us be peaceful minded and for one we are all filipinos we should be proud of our brothers or sisters who gone a long way for their good efforts. let us stop comparing these two groups they're both good and world class performers and they already prove it many times. i'm proud to be pinoy. okay ba mga kapatid?

  • At 1:30-2:15, is that in smokey mountain?

  • "Paraiso" is one of the songs I so love. I was excited to hear it being sung by the Phil. Madrigal Singers who did an excellent job - as usual! I wonder who arranged the song....it is lovely.

On the other hand, watching the video evoked powerful emotions from me. It was a sad reminder of the fact that deplorable conditions continue to exist in our country and that an increasing number of our kababayans are becoming destitute.

  • nice comments the2youts

  • very touching....and hope to hear more on your upcoming show at the ccp on june 29, 2008 i'll watch it promise.....love you madz....

  • Is this area in Manila still exist? The singing is very moving but the video is more shocking to watch. How the children can be exposed to such tragedy. Families not having the opportunity to have a better future. The politicians need to work together to help the people to a better future instead of bickering. May God bless the people in need and the people who help them. God bless the children who never had the chance to be one, may they find the greatest gift ever.

  • some pix flickered!!!! but i love the song/voice thanks!!!!i really like all your songs salamat mabuhay po ang PILIPINO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The comments of both parties trying to outwit one another who is better between the two singing groups where argued brilliantly as expected because in all probability, people who debated on the matter who is a better choir came from the prominent institutions of learning in the country.

I LOVE YOU PHILPPINR MADZ

  • I love the Phil. Madrigal Singers because they are all from the University of the Philippines which is my alma mater...this choral group has been an epitome of perfection...

Philippine Madrigal Singers ( U.P. ) and Ms. Lea Salonga ( Ateneo De Manila ) they are the ones I look up to.

  • but the Madz has only 1 competition in the Philippines...and guess what.. it didn't come from Ateneo....

  • magaling talaga ang MADZ sa lahat ng choir coz maganda ang puso nla..kahit sikat na cla tumotulong din sa mga bagohang choir like us! Kahit saan ka man KAPAMILYA! Keep up d good work MADZ! Sir Mark C....ASTIG!

  • Madz and UPSA the best chorale groups in the Philippines!!!

  • YES GO UST GROWLING SINGERS!! GO USTE

  • this song is very inspiring. keep it up guys!

Madrigal Singers.

  • We should stop comparing these 2 choirs. They're equally great!

Madrigal Singers - European Grand Prix Winner

UST Singers - Choir of the World

  • We should stop comparing these 2 choirs.

Madrigal Singers - European Grand Prix Winner

UST Singers - Choir of the World

    They're equally great!

  • please upload a better video audio quality so that people could appreciate more of our filipino music no matter what choir. specially those of the premiere choirs of the Philippines. and bad comments could be avoided. thanks

  • The pictures from the Payatas are really depressing. It's scenes like those that make going home is so bitter sweet.

  • The song itself sounds depressing. I know it's not meant to. maybe it's the singers.

  • BASURA!

  • better effort needed toward the pictures.

great song, but it is contradicted by pixelated images!

  • U

    S

    T!

  • Oh man. This Song is beautiful let's not spoil it by fighting over what choir has a better rendition. It just goes to show why our motherland is in constant turmoil..Our people just can't get together.

  • For 10 million Pinoy families -- or 57% of the population -- recent gains of the peso against the US dollar have not changed their well-being. one in every three (30%) or 5 million families said they were better off before the peso gained strength and averaged to about 45 against the dollar in 2007. - Social Weather Station survey conducted from September 2 to 5, 2007

  • Philippine Madrigal Singers. The Best Choir in the World.

  • MADZ and UST are both superb choral groups in the Philippines. Yun lang ang masasabi ko!

Please don't compare these groups. Lets just be happy that here in our place matagpuan yung mga leading choirs na nakikilala sa buong mundo. Yung mga fans lang naman ang nag-aaway! Peace nalang lahat, pwede?

    God bless us all!

  • what song?

  • the prayer and paraiso....

  • is it a yahoo account?

  • sorry i didn't catch the @____.__ thing.

  • you guys should hear the arrangement done by bojo lijauco on this song. performed by the AUP ambassadors.

  • all i can say is this: depende kasi sa kanta. Minsan mas maganda sa MADZ, minsan mas maganda sa UST.

  • Exactly.. UST and the Madrigal Singers are the best!

  • the madrigal singers and the ust singers have different styles. they're both great!

  • From what I heard from the 2 groups (I haven't heard them both before), mas maganda and rendition ng UST. Napa-iyak ako. Salamat for bringing this video to utube. I pray to God for progress in PI.

  • Very good video! The pictures are very clear and they tell it like it is. Congratulations!

  • thanks. :)

  • Thank you for posting this VAMPINAY!:)I have made this a fave! It's nicely done, the video itself. By the way, this is EJAN(originally,I am JEAN..he just calls me EJAN), the friend of bugbbs whoi also commnted on yoru video. He's Dutch and I'm a co Pinay, hey! I asked him to view your video while he hears the famous MADZ :) In his message, I think he expressed how he finds the film sad..yet, heartwarming....He even told me that the music is nice :)

Anyway, thank you for posting this!!!!

  • Thank you. It's very much appreciated. Thanks again.

BASTA PINOY, when it comes to singing hindi naman tayo nahuhuli.

  • like the version of A.S.

  • yuck! UST? kadiri. if they are to be compared with madz, sila 0.0001, at ang madz, 100.

  • There r only 2 groups from the philippines that are recognized in the world. unfortunately for your nitwit excuse of a brain...they are only UST and MadZ. kahit na anong gawin mo yun ang totoo...just be proud that both groups are from the Philippines...

UST - choir of the world

    Madz - european grand prix

and btw, for the record...UST did better with this song...ang UST singers lumuluha habang kinakanta ang kantang ito...iyan ang tunay na may puso

  • ohh.. alam ko UP magaling sa frat/violence kaya nga sikat ang UP diba. hehehe. peace.

  • tsk tsk.. ang babaw..

  • magaling (clap), magaling (clap), magaling (clap)!

Pwede ba, walang comparison!

  • search the version of UST choir.

nakakaiyak even if the pictures were tamer, mas may taste.

Philippine Madrigal Singers, ang masasabing TOTOONG choir of the world.

  • Magaling ang ACS sa totoo lang. mas magaling pa sila sa UPSA at UST. past is past. kung dati naka partcipate ang UPSA at UST sa egp, pakinggan nyo nlng sila ngayon. mas maganda tunog ng ACS kesa sa 2 choirs na yun. pero syempre, they still have to prove something. Recently lang naman nabuo ang ACS unlike the 3 Madz, UPSA and UST. PEro mas magaling parin ang Madz. 2x nanalo ng EGP.

  • w8 lng po cnu ba ung ACS ask ln po kun magaling cla gud 4 us kc madami world class choir sa pinas tnx

  • Ateneo Chamber Singers. Magaling sila.

  • Congartulations Madz for winning the GPE for the second time. What a wonderful thing to know that the best choir in the world is found in the Philippines. Hope you can visit different provinces in our country to encourage (o baka ma-discourage kasi napakagaling ninyo) different choir groups.

  • Haaaaaaaaaay!

MADZ talaga ang the best. Yung ACS, magpanalo muna sila ng kahit isang EGP-member competition like Arezzo o Tolosa, etc. Come to think of it, lagpasan muna nila ang UST singers at UPSA bago nila harapin ang Madz, hahaha!

  • cnu ba ung ACS d ko kc cla kilala

  • Ateneo Chamber Singers. Magaling sila.

  • "The Philippine Madrigal Singers won the 2007 European Grand Prix of Choral Music. The first and only choir in the world to win the most prestigious competition twice.

Hello USTE? Musta na kayo? Choir of the world? MANALO MUNA KAYO NG EGP pwede? gosh! kaloka!

  • TAPOS NA ANG DEBATE! The only local choir to win the European grand prix)the only real choral olympics which features the champion of the champions, the only choir in the world to win it twice. Amen! =)

  • when was the first.

    was it on 2001?

  • i think it was 1997. :)

  • i love the song...kulang lang sa dynamics...at parang tire....

  • i love this

  • I love the song Paraiso at match na match ang mga pictures sa song. As always, a beautiful and regal renditon by The Madrigal Singers. Thanks for the upload.

  • For crying out loud! Madrigal Singers sila! They dont sing poppy! Alamin nyo muna ang background! Hindi pwedeng i-compare! Bravo!

  • A poor country like the Philippines, the people must love and understand each other and love their country as well and never to comment what your country men have shared good sound for the whole world to hear. Poor country poor mentality. Thanks to my translator.

  • i personally like this version more because it sounds like a portraiture of the lyrics. in that way it makes the arrangement song-specific and customized. asteeeg :)

  • grabe gling ng MADZ pg ma2lki mo tlaga unlike ng UST dmi nlang sintunado mag arl p nga kayo ng music nka2tuwa kau pra kayong nknta lng s kanto

  • mas magaling talaga ang UST version of this wonderful song..ü

    AND

mas maganda ung mga presentation ng pictures..

try to compare. just type : UST PARAISO and you'll see the difference!!ü

  • I have heard and seen both groups perform. There is no way you can compare Madz to UST's. This is a live recording if you didnt notice. You might wanna get their records in stores. Why cant people just be happy our choirs are world class? Why compare?

  • Right! and the Madz is the Official Choir of the Philippines! No comparison. Kahit sangkatutak na awards basta walang EGP crown, much more dalawa, wag sana i compare. It's really a pathetic effort. Peace!

  • yah... seeing the difference is different from HEARING THE DIFFERENCE. pictures oo. but the madz rendition of the song is far far better. quality, balance and emotion. I heard the version of ust. somehow parang "pa-cute" hindi naman bagay sa lyrics. =)

  • i don't think USTs version is pa cute. mas may feelings nga if you ask me, the arrangement was better. at ramdam na ramdam mo sa boses nila yung meaning ng kanta. nothing to do with schools yung kanta lang talaga. madz version is faster paced...of course it is excellent for cryin out loud....dapat lang no madz yan eh. but i'm going to be true to myself and in my opinion i like USTs version better.

  • both Calalang and Palaruan's versions are good. They just differ with the emotion. Calalang's version is gentle and very touching while this version has a little frustration and despair added to the flavor.

  • boses ipis soprano....

  • ive heard calalangs version, and its better.. ^^

  • madrigal ang da best!!... pero mas gsto ko version ng san migz.... syempre may orchestrang ksama.. wewe.... di nga mgaling cla parehas... ibat ibang galing lng, syempre iba ung pagkaka edit ng piece... magaling prehas!! number 1

  • korek ka jan!

  • mganda po...no doubt...pro ms gs2 q version ni calalang...^^

  • i don't think so. the emotions delivered by this version is truthful and intense which i believe renders the calalang version inferior. plus the fact that this arrangement is purely a capella makes it more demanding and requires a superior standard of musical knowledge to be able to make the emotions come out and reach the target audience.

  • hmmm, why must you always take down other people when you give your comments? the other poster just said he liked calalang's version better...nag pa superior ka na agad.

calalang's version is gentle, and very touching tama yung comment. ngayon kung di mo type yon, opinion mo lang yon, at hwag mong ipilit ang superiority.

  • Great song!!!! nakakalungkot naman angmga pictures

  • I love this song. Very touching video.

  • wow!

  • the most beautiful thing in the world cannot be seen or cannot be even seen they must be felt with the "HEART"

life shaped by music, andrea veneracion

  • the most beautiful thing in the world cannot be seen or even touch ^^)

  • never give up Pinoys because their is still hope for our nation... pray for Philippines!!!

  • what an ironic video in a sense that it makes me proud about having a MADZ and ashame for the filipinoes specially for our politicians.. have you ever seen such heartless and insensitive kind of of people than the politicians that prey on our poor countymen why can't they feel for the poor.. its so frustrating to see people suffering and on the other side see somebody bathing in gold.. frustrating!!!

  • im working here in the middle east ryt now and as i watched this video, i was crying because i felt sad of the plight of some filipinos. but no matter what, i will always love the philippines. thank you MADZ for giving us the lighter side of our lives as pinoys. Mabuhay ka Pinoy and kudos to the one and only Phil. Madrigal Singers!!!!!!!

  • i mizz philippines... i really wana go back...

  • galing nyo! THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!

proud to be filipino! all filipino choirs ROCKZ!!!!!

Thru singing they show what great talents FILIPINO have! SUPERBLY gaining recognitions all through out the WORLD! please no comparing of choir's capabilities, all are great performers as long it comes from the heart! the biggest lesson i learned from my MENTOR!

  • Wow. I saw this choir in Vancouver, Canada at the Music festival. They are the best choir I've ever seen. I was crying by the end of the performance. So were grown men!! It was incredible! When are they going to tour again?

  • they would be touring north america in the near future, probably within this year. i hope it includes vancouver so i can watch it too.... long live the madz!!!

  • wuhh npaka ggLING SUPER!!!PROUD TO BE A PINOY...super powerrrfull niyo poh!!!uala ng masasabi pah,,wuuuhh elow poh kay sir mark carpio at sa lahat

  • wuhh npaka ggLING SUPER!!!PROUD TO BE A PINOY...super powerrrfull niyo poh!!!uala ng masasabi pah,,wuuuhh elow poh kay sir mark carpio at sa lahat

  • sana lagyan n'yo pa dito ng maraming kanta i like ur blending.

  • with this song, let us reflect on the sad plight of our country and the ones who are really affected. this is real. and there is something to be done about

it. let us pray that within our lifetime, there must be something we can do to help to solve the problem.

  • wonderful nice and also beautiful, "wala bang only you"

  • i sang this song last year at a choral convention in manila... it was perfect after everything that's been going on

  • a sad sorry past philippine history. street protests invites extremisms radicals chaos violence organize crime like behaviours that resulted to multiple more problems-tragedies. indoor public dialogues are proven more effective if done in proper channels or chain of commands within organizations-companies-government-civilian. philippines is changing for the better now not enough but it change for the best of all pilipinos.

  • when a government is corrupt and a country has seen over 400 years of warfare and occupation by cruel invaders, sometimes it is better to take to the streets. You must remember that the philippines was under invasion for over 400 years by the spanish,

  • and then kicked out of the country just over 100 years ago through guerilla warfare and raised public awareness contributed by Dr. Jose Rizal, who wrote books about the way the spanish treated philipinos, and by the kataasan who fought the spanish. Also, after the spanish left, the americans tried to stake a claim. later during world war 2, japan invaded the philippines, and the americans pulled nearly all troops out.
