I'll be routing for Canada too. I lived in the Detroit area in 2002 and that city was divided because it is forgotten as an american city and with Shanahan and Yzerman on Canada, people weren't keen on routing against him, at least in the gold medal game.
Detroit is going to be even more divided with all the Swedes, and with Yzerman/Babcock running team Canada.
Canada all the way for me though. Awesome that it is your city, going to be amazing.

Yeah sure I searched how many Canadians were in the top 30, but that was just to prove a point. Every one knows Canada is the best at hockey hands down, don't even argue that. But I'm not gonna lie. @asanrules Canadians are important to EVERY cup raising? That's a lot of hubris. Detroit 2008 was powered by Swedes. Some Canadians contributed (Cleary, Osgood), but the Swedes were the dominant players on that winning team. And Canadians are NOT a majority on many of these teams. At the aggregate Canadians are just over 50% of NHL players at this point. Once you isolate individual teams, there are many where Canadians are non-majority and those are offset by teams that are heavy on Canadians.

@asanrules detroits majority is actually europe-born players. They only have 6 canadiens on their roster, 2 of which that are goalies that rarely play. Theres 5 USA players, 6 Canadien players, 1 Russian player, and 10 European players. So the Red Wings do not have a lot of Canadiens, and yet have made it to the Playoffs 20 seasons in a row (NHL record) and wont 4 Stanely Cups in the past 14 years. Best of any other team.
