  • Does it flood bad when full - tillotson does`nt like gravity fed systems that why it has a pump built in .

  • @MrMrtiki No, never had a problem with the carb flooding

  • PUT THE CAB ON...AND USE IT FOR A HEATER!..LOL!....I GET SO TIRED WHEN I CLEAR THE DRIVEWAY!...LOL

  • @PussyPiston LOL!...HUMMMM....WHY DOES HE KEEP TAKING A NAP IN THE DRIVEWAY?...MUST BE THE ENGINE HELPS HIM TO "FALL" ASLEEP....LOL!....HOPEFULLY IT HAS THE SAFETY BAR HOOKED UP....ER ELSE IF THE DRIVER SPUN IT AROUND WHILE "FALLING" ASLEEP...LOL....IT MIGHT HACK HIM TO PIECES!I......LOL!...HONEY? WHERE DID HE GO? AND WHATS ALL THIS RED SNOW!...LOL!..JUST KIDDING KIARRA, I HAVE THE SAME ENGINE ON MY "TOILET SEAT RACER"...LOL!

  • You wanted to breath muffler fumes LOL

  • NP I don't work that things do not always appear how they read just like me trying to write this on my I-pod now leave one word out can chance hole sentence Cheers

  • they put bigger carbs on 5hp

  • Two much air intake and to much fuel the carb is way to large for a Briggs of that size it u might be able to get it to work on a 16hp briggs with modifing both air and gas intake -just my take on it. I build 16's for garden tractor pullers.

  • I never cut your project down other then agree with someone else about the pipe only I left off the in your face part "my issue was the filming".I tried to view it on my I-Touch wrong thing to do with a jumpy camera. You are very knowlegeable and I enjoy your projects "this is the first one I ever commented on the others I watched and rated while on my pc. I could pass your test NP but thats not the issue the issue is you feel I insulted U I take it and I am "sorry" things came out this way.

  • OK, i'm glad to hear you'r not another hater that has nothing better to do!

I'm also sorry for getting so angry, when you didn't mean it the way I read it.

  • Who the hell filmed this I got sick watching after the first 45 seconds ......and that pipe you need help on this deal.

  • I filmed this, sorry if you trew up on yourself.

You're right I need help from an expert like you, The intake valve on this engine is stuck in open position, and it's not working, tell me how to fix it !, and how do I fix a leaking valve on a 4,5Hp Honda OHC?

And how do I adjust the carb on an 8hp Tecumseh with idle range adjuster and medium range adjuster screws?

    pleace tell me!

  • whats the song

  • do you still have the original carb if you do would you sell it

  • who puts a tillotson on their snowblower???

  • Good question !

  • cool

  • why put a custom carb on when you can make a force-feeder out of an old air blower?

  • yea your jetting is really off, thats why it wont rev up..

  • Actually when you pump allota fuel into these single bangers the combustion from the extra fuel will throw bypass valves and backfire both ways. NEEDS SPRINGS!

  • its a snow blower not a tiller

  • Awesome! now you get exhaust in your face.

  • your jettings off

  • u should put it on a gokart tho the setup is cool im just saying.......its a tiller ffs

  • Cool Mods,

What model of Tillotson carb are you using? just gavity feel for fuel to the carb with no external pump ?- i don't see a pulse line from the intake for the internal pump on the carb. I've got a HL63 from a 2 stroke (snowmobile) engine i'd like to use on a TEC H50 4 stroke in a similar setup.

    Thanks for the post

  • I'm not trying to be an asshole here but thats a dumb place for an exhaust.....its right on your damn face......whatever works i guess.....

  • im sorry but thats stupid lol

  • no you are stupied go cry in the corner

  • that was sweet!!!!

  • r u stil monetering this comment page? i have a question if so!

  • bring on your question

  • nevermind, i have different carb off a 77 j. d. sled. tryin to fix carb on dingo one seater w/ B&S 8hp. havin trouble keepin it running.

  • naaaa totaly stock exhaust!

  • that looks like a tilitson carb off a two stroke

  • Yeah, it is a tilitson carb off a two stroke.

  • Sorry to but in but how do you get the max power what i mean is where should the governor be full on half way or should i just cut it loose let it go were it wants. just put 8hp Briggs on a go kart

  • To get the max power the engine should run at around 3600rpm, if you have full throttle it will rev to 6000rpm (to much) thats why it has the governour, to keep it at around 3600, with or without resistanse. But on some engine I take of the self controling governour and put the throttle cable directly on the throttle, to get more max rpm, but you have to be carefull not to over rev the engine.

  • @kiarra00 well over reving of those engines wont be so harmfull cuz the valves can't gen in contact with the piston in case that the springs will break . But i can't say its good for that engine to rev it so high it's ment to go on low rpm.

SRY FOR BAD ENGLISH i'm from slovakia :)

  • snow is going to clog the carb

  • You should do something about that choke lever swinging around.

That Carburetor is of a Diaphragm Type. Very Dependable

To bad you didn't live closer by, I would offer to pay you for some custom manifolds.

  • Yeah i know the choke lever is swinging around, im going to put a spring on it or something.

This thing still needs some adjustment and stuff, because i made this video 2minutes or so, after i finished welding the manifolds.

I really like this carb to, its much better than the original updraft carb, that was pissing out gas all the time.

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Yea, I know, you'd get lucky if you had a successful rebuild...That dumb'ol freakin cork gasket always expanded and ruined everything, I must've went through 3 freakin kits to get it right.

  • my grandma has a 8hp briggs and stratton Coleman generator with the updraft carb with the u pipe going to the air cleaner cold dry starts suck and its realy unstable when running i hope she sells it to me one day she knows a want it but she thinks i know nothing about engines and that its to complicated for me to handle

  • those old updraft carbs are the best ones other than the vaccu jets but they kinda suck at cold starts but once warmed up they run awsome

  • that is not an updraft carb in the vid though

  • Nice Motor !!!!

That looks like a Tillotson Carb.

There should be some letters & numbers stamped on the mounting flange.

  • I haven't seen any numbers on the carb, but i will take a look at it and try to find them. I think this carb comes from a 2 stroke boat engine, with like 15-20 hp.

  • Yeah that sounds cool, Tecumseh carbs are junk, actually i think Tecumseh engines are junk. But the briggs & stratton updraft carbs are also bad carbs, because they leak a lot. Anyway, good luck with your Tecumseh build:)

  • Yes i welded the manifold and exhaust myself, i also made the intake brackets myself, it was a lot of work, but it turned out pretty good.

  • yea i could tell from the crappy welds
