Shane's biggest problem is that she still had her "Abandonment Issues" that she still bought to the table, in retrospect maybe Carmen not marrying Shane was a blessing, Shane would have had so many trust issues that Carmen would have left her and then in her own mind Shane would confirm that once again she was "abandoned"

Yeah season six was pretty average and the writers made some fucked up desicions throughout the entire series really.. Dana's death, totally unnecessary. Marina's disappearance? Jenny becoming a complete shithead plus her unsolved death. But killing carmen and shane was worst by far, seriously they were like the ross and rachel of the L word.
