Does apple mac book pro accept AVCHD format?

The box my camera came in says Mac OSX and up are compatible. It comes with its own video player so it will be able to play AVCHD videos I'm sure. I'm not sure however if you can edit in iMovie or not. I know though that AVCHD is editable in Windows Movie Maker.

wtf is with the sound on these cameras!!!!! lol! im assuming its just youtube being homo, but still, im worried. the footage looks slightly jittery....i think a TM700k would be safer at this point

Yeah, it's youtubes fault, but they've fixed the .m2ts problem since, so you're safe with canon too atm, lol.

I'm sorry, YouTube encoded this video 3 times already and it's permanently ruined now. First time, it was like this after processing (Dec of '08) then in Feb of '09 it was re-encoded and it worked fine, 6 or 7 months later up until now, they re-encoded it again and now it's permanently ruined.

I'm starting to upload all of my old .m2ts videos to vimeo and linking them from here, so stay tuned for a vimeo link in the description.

I just bought one of these cameras ( havent got it yet ...itll be here in a couple of days ) and one of the things I notice is the video quality these babys put out. All the videos Ive seen here on the toob that were shot with the SF11 have a real sharp broadcast quality to them. Since I plan to post stuff on the toob, this camera was the logical choice for me to make.

This video was shot with the HF11, not the SF11, but Canon itself is a great quality company. All of their cameras are great.

The quality is much better than the rendered one for sure. What did you output this video file as? H 264 720p? or another?

um, this one, was uploaded raw, and the format of the raw video is .m2ts, lol, YouTube accepts that format, and makes it HD instantly (no waiting for the "Watch in HD" button after processing, lol) I guess it's some High Definition format

The Raw file was at 24mbps at 30p? Did you use manual settings or just clicked the easy button?

i have a question. is the picture quality on the hf11 a lot better than the hf100. is the difference so slight that its barely noticeable? i need to which to get. i know the hf11 is better but its a bit pricier

I don't have the HF100 to compare... I'm sorry, but I believe they both have the same, cause HF11 had built in memory

haha, thank you very much, the reason it's going slow motion when you click "watch in HD" is because youtube doesn't work well with .m2ts format, they mainly go with .flv, .wmv, .mp4, etc. (all popular ones) I just uploaded this video raw, but yes, quality is AMAZING!!!

You can even change the settings for 5mbps recording to 24mbps recording, I use to always use 24mbps recording cause it's suppose to be highest quality, but 5mbps looks exactly the same! and less space!, just a tip, use 5mbps :D

cause if you watch it in normal mode, the video is good no slow motion or audio mess up, but the HD option fails, even when I download the video in HD it fails too, oh well...
