  • @trueq2fan Our failed tests with the ProtoSShot motors was due to aft motor burnt casting tube material being flushed into the nozzle throat thus effectively plugging the nozzle. We changed to the ablative casting tubes and had several successful tests with them including the full ProtoSShot-III static test. The problem with the first MiniSShot flight was fixed and the MiniSShot-II flight had successful burns in both motors till the payload/recovery section failed at 1800 ft/sec.

    My money is on delay/bulkhead failure.

    Oh well, wont learn without making some mistakes. Better luck next time.

  • @iwasapenny That's what we think may have been the problem though there are also a few others we are looking into. The next test will just test the aft 6 grains and the redesigned delay grain/mid-bulkhead with pressure sensors for both. We are hoping for this test next month.
