Hi Dave untill i got your comment I had never heard of this Dick Contino, till you drew my attention to him,I went and saw his interpretation of Granada absolutely brilliant,a true virtuoso on the accordeon my favorte instrument, Johhny Meyer,Art van Damme and Dick Contino all true artists and virtiouso's of the accordeon Regards Joeido
I see I am not alone in idolizing Art Van Damme. I was fortunate to see him in person in a club in Falls Church, Va back in 1979. In my youth I used to play and teach accordion out in California.
Thank you very much, I'll show this video to my father who plays jazz accordion, he is 80 years old and had always said to me that Art was his favorite !
I've been a fan of Art's playing since I was a teen in the late 70s. I thought he was old then. I just decided to search his name a few mins. ago and here he is. I've very excited to see this and to realize he's still alive. Please post more, something where he really cuts loose.
So quiet! I wish you could boost the volume on this video. Thanks for uploading anyhow, great to see AVD playing this classic.

The absolute best ever. God bless him. Fortunate to meet and speak with him twice personally. What a remarkable, humble talented man!. He is missed.

@mkshark55 I am sorry but i would have to disagree with you! He was good no doubt, but the best accordeonist ever would have to be Johnny Meijer!!

Thank you. I remember Art Van Damme from the 60's when I was studying accordion. He was my favorite. He played in NY at the 1964 Worlds Fair.
