...and as other people have said, regular pole allows for more spins. in addition, there is actually a spinning setting where the pole itself will rotate, allowing you to hold positions and giving the audience the illusion of rotating around the pole. hopefully that makes sense?

@TheDogJean - I've never done chinese pole, but i pole dance. as far as i know there are a few differences: chinese poles are thicker, you can wear clothing when working with a chinese pole, and as far as climbing goes, you can physically walk up the pole. for regular pole, your skin is what grips onto the pole. i'm assuming that chinese poles are sticky or are made of a different material because somehow the chinese pole dancers' clothing sticks...

@TheDogJean Chinese poles are made of rubber so there's no spins (although he does actually spin once here it would be very painful) and tend to be more gymnastic and strength based than a standard pole dance on a metal pole.

@TheDogJean chinese pole is done on a taccy pole so theres more grip on it and as a result its more about muscle strength than spins, whereas pole dancing is on a metallic pole that has no grip and means theres more possibility to spin without tearing your hands off

@TheDogJean Chinese is part of the Chinese circus, and is traditionally done by men. the Pole is covered in rubber and is more bendy so they can jump on and off the pole with out hurting them self. the rubber allows them to wear pants and shirts. thats about it.

@TheDogJean There are a few of the same skills involved, but the main difference is that Chinese Pole is a bit sticky, to help with grip, and poledance poles are polished to allow sliding. Some poledance poles also spin on bearings to allow for even more dynamic acts

hey, ihr seid ja alle richtige fans...aber ist nur zu verständlich. Die Art wie er sich bewegt ist übermenschlich, das muss erst gelernt sein. ABer das witzigste ist, dass ich nachdem ich das video gesehen hab erst erfahren hab das freunde von mir aus berlin mit ihm auf einer schule waren. und dann erfahr ich auch noch dass mein coousin aus badnauheim mit ihm befreundet ist, und dann seh ich ihn auch noch zufällig in einer show. alles in einer woche. das war eindeutig die remi-woche ^^

circus school, dont know where your from but in australia we have "national institute of circus arts" ie NICA that do proper degrees.

you can take casual classes too, just need to find a circus school or lesson place
