The lyricist for this song was the late Roger Penzabene, who also wrote the lyrics for "I Wish It Would Rain" and "You're My Everything". "Just My Imagination" may be the best hit they had IMO, but this song is what I consider to be their greatest recording. This is a masterpiece all the way around, from the vocals, to the instruments, to the string arrangement. Sheer perfection.

I love this song. To those who don't know, the writer of this song committed suicide after finding his wife with another man. This song was about his personal triumph...gosh, he must have been so deep in love.
