  • what does gcn stand for?

  • Brings back so many memories!!!

  • oo i remember this i played it on my game boy ... so many levels... i was adiccted to this game donkey kong

  • donkey kong series are better than mario ones, exept old mario games, those still are good

  • I wish this would be on 3ds.....thatd be awesome.....dkc portable! Snes version is still the best but in my opinion gbc has made the best remake

  • I really don't think this game would be on the Nintendo 3DS. A port of this game on the Nintendo 3DS? I don't see that happening.

I agree with you about the SNES version. It's definitely the best.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood im not saying that it will come to 3ds i just WISH it would......your right tho. it probably wont

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Why wouldn't happen? Rare can do whatever they want for handheld consoles.

  • Last I checked, Microsoft bought the rights to Rareware. Microsoft had the rights to Rareware since 2003. I don't think Rareware will ever be the same again, which is why I don't see this game being ported on the Nintendo 3DS. Therefore, I don't see that happening.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Um Rare owns the rights to many of their games like Banjo-Kazooie and Conker, but all Donkey Kong Country games in the past and the future belong to Nintendo.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood I'm afraid MajBlood is right. That would be why the Donkey Kong Country SNES games are on the Wii Virtual Console. Plus GBC games are supposed to come to the eShop eventually so there ain't nothin' stopping this one from coming too.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood for starters it doesn't matter what rare says abou tthe game anymore, or else Nintendo wouldn't have been able to put the game on VC.

Second Majblood is right, Part of the deal Rare had with microsoft was freedom on third party handheld consoles, just not home console games for other companies.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood But Microsoft doesn't have a haneld gaming system, only a phone basedon Windows 7. Rare still supports Nintendo through the handheld market, Diddy Kong Racing DS and all three GBA DKC's being enough proof. Ergo, Rare can put one of their GB or GBA titles on the 3DS.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood what do you call Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, Banjo-Pilot, and Diddy Kong Racing DS? those were developed by Rare for Nintendo's handheld systems since Microsoft has no handheld console.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood

    Umm? Donkey Kong Contry Returns?

  • @NuttyNut90 Nintendo owns the rights to Donkey Kong's name and character, and Diddy Kong, and Cranky. Donkey Kong Country Returns was developed by Retro, not Rareware. The same company that designed the Metroid Prime series. Rareware owns every other Misc character from the Donkey Kong games, however, I believe.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Nintendo still holds the right to use the Donkey Kong games by Rare in any way they want, that's why Diddy Kong is still in the newer games, and also why the Donkay Kong Country games are on the Wii Virtual Console. Therefore, Nintendo wouldn't/shouldn't have legal trouble if they wanted to port the Donkey Kong Country, and the Donkey Kong Land games to The Nintendo 3DS, or even remake them.

  • A compilation of The Donkey Kong Country/Donkey Kong Land games completely re-rendered in 3D with Donkey Kong Country Returns Style Graphics on one 3DS Card would be amazing!

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Nintendo still has a partnership with Rare in the handheld department.

  • They made a pretty good effort of making the GBC port as similar to the original as possible. Nice work. And I love this music. It's in some ship levels of Donkey Kong Land as well.

  • id prefer this instead of my nes pirate dk country i found at the trash dump in the trash

  • Hmm what EPIC last boss battle music

  • How can king k roll run that fast hes so fat

  • Beats me.

  • games were so much harder back when you were younger. this was my first ever game boy game and i found it, especially this level so hard but i have been playing through it again (im 18 now) and it is very simple. oh how the brain matures

  • It still doesn't change the fact that the game isn't better than the SNES version, as well as the Game Boy Advance version. The Game Boy Color version still has problems with the physics and hit detection.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood i never noticed that, and i still play it to this day

  • GBC for life! :D after 11 years im still playing it :) (i think its 11 anyway)

  • Kind of funny, everything looks way worst than the SNES version, but the cannon balls still look the same.

  • its all fake cause at the end he doesnt do that lol

trust me i have it on the gbc

  • what the hell king k rool is this

  • What do you mean?

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood what is thebattle

  • This is the final boss battle.

  • I love how the DKC3 is the only game out of 4 of them that he doesn't fake being down.

  • Completely forgot about this. This is basically the same as nintendo making a nes port.

  • Alright so I'm playing Donkey kong country on the snes, and I finally beat King K. Rool. Yeah! I finally beat him so I go get my cousins to show them and they come in the living room. AND HE BEAT ME! OHHH DARN!

  • Hah, you were trollin' him the whole time. K. Rool never stood a chance.

  • Ok, I passed this level, but when I go to the main screen menu, it says that I have completed only 54% of the game. Why?

Is there more to the game?

  • You have to find every bonus room. The highest percentage you can get in this version is 81%. Removing DK barrels and continue barrels, and then completing the game 2 more times gives you 83%.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood I've got 102% on my GC version. I think you have to find the hidden photos near the green bananas as well.

  • The photos are only in the Game Boy Advance version.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood No, they're on the GBC version as well. I'm playing it right now :D

  • I searched every level in this version and didn't find a single photo.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Near the exit of the first level (with checkpoints and dk barrels enabled) there's a green banana bunch right by the edge of the cliff. If you use Donkey Kong's ground slap attack right where the bannana bunch was you should find the first photo. That's the easist location of a photo I can think of, if you can't find it then I have no idea why it's not working for you.

  • It seems as though you are right. I found that Sticker Pad in 'Jungle Hijinxs' by using Donkey's Ground Slap right where the green banana bunch was.

According to the sticker book, there are 18 Sticker Pads, meaning that there must be 6, one in each world. Without DK Barrels, 6 in each world but different areas. Without Star Barrels, 6 but different areas.

All this time, I thought those green banana bunches were just for show, but now I know. They're for finding the Sticker Pads.

  • ...Well, most of the themes are from "Donkey Kong Land". This is one of them. So you can't really blame Rareware for taking this theme from that game.

  • i finnaly beat ice age alley (after 4 years)

  • Wow. That long, eh? Well, if that's the case, I might be the only one who's very good at this game on YouTube.

  • i finally beat elevator antics 1 hour ago (after 4 years)

  • Four years? My goodness!

  • @boxerboxerabc i could believe it i got this game when it was first released and finally beat it yesterday and im 15 ha! elevator antics was ridiculous compared to the snes

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Elevator Antics, that level took me at least 3 years

  • That level will be uploaded in a moment.

  • i have this game and i love it

    great vid ;)

  • Thanks.

  • in the snes version it doesnt play the victory music and the music doesnt stop thats how i knew i wasnt done yet but this one because i played it first it tricked me-.-

  • Ever since I have had this game i could never get passed the low jumps that King Rool does after the fake credits.

  • nice to see the first GameBoy game I ever owned on YT, its like nobody knows it exists, there are practically no vids of it.

  • I know. Maybe it's because they don't like this version of the game. I know I don't.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Yeah, it's definitely not as good as the original or the GBA port.

  • @WilliamGamesWereGood Well I gave that game to my cousin, but if it looked like that on the game boy I would definitely keep it.( A game boy has bad graphics! )

  • @halberdierv2 you´re right, i didn´t knew it existed, i thought there was only DK Land and Country remakes for GBA, but not this one, it looks cool though
