  • awesome pulse ; )

  • @brooks2052 Not sure I understand the question. If by outline you mean the pattern I followed, refer to an explanation further down the comments list. I used a paper pounce pattern and a ponce bag. Hope this helps.

  • great video helpd me outallot

  • It is like tying your shoes. You do it a few million times you get very good at it. If you can make it to a 'Letterheads' event it would go a long way to help you. Check out letterville and creativesignmakers on the web

  • @letrhed It took you a few million times to get good at tying your shoes?

    Good stuff.

  • Is there a good way that you recommend to learn this? I.e. is it best to do a course or just learn from books and practice?

  • DID YEAH HAVE I NICE WARM BOTTLE OF COKE WITH THAT

  • Dear Letrhed,

    Thanks so much...Again...love your work..

  • i used to go to dixie back in the 90s

  • do you hand letter any dirt track cars?

  • @rawatson83

I used to. It has been quite a few years since my shop was in Woodstock, GA next to Dixie Spweedway

  • wow

  • good :)

  • You are very talented. Painting cursive script is not easy. I am curious what you did before the paint part. How you stenciled or outlined the logo onto the surface. Was it hand drawn? Was it stenciled? If so, what techniques do you use? Thanks for sharing.

  • @fatlabrador13

An effective way of pulling a pattern from an old sign before restoring is to tape a sheet of heavy bond paper over the panel and wipe the paper with a rag soaked in mineral spirits. The paper will become transparent and you can trace the design with a #2 pencil. After the mineral spirits evaporates you can make a pounce pattern from it as I did in this case.

  • What do you have mixed with the white to make it cover so well?

    Tutbro

  • @Tootbro a few drops of metallic silver is majic in white .

  • what kind of brush are you using?

  • @jonnyrock2001

I think it's a 'french' from Dick Blick. Grey #10 or so.

  • @letrhed probably answered wrong. The actual type of brush is a grey lettering quill

  • Thank you for putting this one up!

  • Nice job...interesting how similar all of our techniques are. I too use 3 oz. unwaxed & palette the brush on the lip. Looks like the white came out pretty opaque for you. I mostly go hand over hand, only occaisionally using my Mahl stick. Good work.

  • Great Job!! Please post some more lettering jobs

  • I think the fist "a" is a little big
