I am convinced that Carmine Appice should have been the drummer to replace the late Keith Moon in The Who. He just sounds like he was cut from the same cloth as Keith. He should have been the logical choice. Heavy, inventive, creative, aggressive. Maybe he wasn't available? What a pairing that would have been.
@Suhaylsaadi Truly I never received a single penny because the group / management never registered my name or gave me any credit as a Lyricist of Lady with ASCAP, at the time, and this has stopped me from being able to collect any royalties, afterwards BBA did ask me to write some more lyrics and help arrange some new material for their so called second album which they were recording at Escape studios in Kent , I still have the demo`s but I decided not to, shortly afterwards they broke up.
@FRENCHPF Thanks for taking the time to explain. Mr French, I'm very sorry to hear that - it is neither just nor fair. Btw, on a different note, I really loved the 'In Hearing Of' Atomic Rooster album you made. Fantastic, the songs really scintillate! Thanks so much for the music.
@Suhaylsaadi Thank you for your being such a fan, it is really most appreciated, check out my band Leaf Hound there are several tracks on utube you might find it interesting.and thank you once again.
Brief note I wrote the lyrics to Lady although I never ever recieved a single cent for writing it, ex singer with Cactus on " Ot N Sweaty " Peter French.
@SchecterGuitar689 Haha, I know how you feel, during parts like that you just gotta improvise, that's what I'd do when my old band did Black Sabbath songs (Geezer did some crazy stuff).
@obscurebandfan Geezer is crazy, hehe :) But an insanly talented bassist! You're probably right about the ending, even Tim does it. The ending is not the same as on the original :P
Speaking from a guitarists point of view - the differnece between Beck and the rest of them is that he plays as part of the band, reacting to the mood at the time but then sometimes taking the lead with his usual stunning mastery of the fret board. Most other famous virtuosos play for themselves other than a few notable exceptions. Beck plays from the head and soul.
I know music and life moves on and that, but man, I wish I had a time machine to see BBA. They were wild. 3 great players; a wild alien on guitar, a vicious tiger on bass and a hurricane on drums.
@MichaelPalinFan2008 I'm probably a little older than you. I got to see BBA twice and Bogert and Appice with Vanilla Fudge and Cactus. BBA was as good as you probably imagine; Bogert and Appice one of the great rhythm sections of all time.
@tjnewmoon I agree, have been jammin' to the studio version since it came out...but can't say as I've ever heard this live version before...great schtuff!
By mind has been blown, never to be re-blown...

'FrenchPF', that's dreadful! Why don't you get royalties, when your name is on the songwriting credits?

As much as i adore Beck, the show is stolen by Carmine Appice, i mean he is an absolute beast of a drummer

One of the best rhythm sections of all time. And one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Hmm. I think they're . . . great.
