Cute! I used to give my rats little bowls of decaf green tea every day and they loved it. A couple would even wash their faces in it - apparently they wanted to smell good :-)
its a myth that rats are lactose intolerant, they actually have the same chances of humans as being lactose intolerant, the main problem with milk and rats is that it thickens their mucus which can cause sneezing and clog their lungs up. however, beautiful girlies :)
Its really rare they get it, water is always best for rats at all time but this is just a treat for mine, great for old and sick rats to who are struggling to eat or drink, it gives them energy
@finn366, We give our rats gatorade sometimes for there belly aches cuz my rat is almost 4 years old. He had like 3 tummy aches and if you give 'em gatorade it helps! <3 <3 <3 R.I.P Joe
@gurkinz Tea is healthy for people, so I think it's good for my ratties too. Mine love chamomille and green tea without milk or honey, and I give one of them allot of thyme tea because he has bad respatory problems and it soothes him when he's having a bad day. But I know for sure that chamomille is very good for them! And black tea doesn't do any harm.
The tea is just standard tea that we drink, for example tetley tea bags etc, just cooled down but they only have it once every few months if that to be honest.
I have 9 now lol :) My 2 new boys are only about 13 weeks old. Still settling in but hoping for them to live with 2 other boys i have at some point :)
haha hun bless you :P what was we laughing at the other day? lol 00:19 you liked lol anyway it is ruined now i had to explain lol :P just give susanna her eye drops :S did not go well lol she is sulking with me :( anyways hun i know you will understand what i ment now lol bless you hehe xxxx
lol i just realised, Snoop has a white mark on his tummy :P Trinnie does too lol i think our rats must be twins hun lol i think we can confirm it now lol :) by the way 00:19 in this one is worth watching :P LOL i know you will get that hun :P hehe
OMG! they are so adorable!!!!! It make me laugh to see all of them drinking together in sync... What kind of tea is it and how much do you give them and how often?
I give my rats fresh soy milk...it is available in most good IGA and supermarkets. It is said to be excellent for female rats in particular as it reduces the incidence of tumours. I have never had to deal with a tumour in a rat yet. Of course having said that I suppose that experience will occur one day as I love rats.
So try soy mlk in their tea...I love it in tea and Im sure they will too
thanks for sharing the very cute video. I had to give you a 5 star rating :>
aw they are so sweet hun, looks like they are enjoying it love how they nudge each other away from it lol :) mine love tea aswell, and hum how is caffine bad for them ? lol in large doses maybe it is but not as a treat, mine have it often and they are fine, ignore these silly people sweety, hugs to your ratties from me xx

Ive had 12 rats and only one with tumours so far, so im lucky i think.
