Regarding the crystal dress: it's beautiful, but I'd be afraid of cutting myself on it! (I'm a little bit of a klutz, and crystals are pokey.) Also, it looks really heavy. Randy's estimate of eight pounds strikes me as an understatement. It is gorgeous though.

@ImHereForMJ Most likely the brides there don't wear sleeveless or see through dresses. With Spain being mostly Catholic -the bride is required to cover up if she marries in church.

@2004mojo Well in any church I think it's custom to be covered up and be modest. Most dresses these days either have straps or are strapless, but brides would usually buy those sleeved-tops to go over it. I'm having an outdoor, non-religious wedding and my dress is strapless. I didn't plan on strapless, but it is my favorite dress I saw.

Well according to Randy it's probably going to be some princess that buys the dress. Where do you think princesses get their money? From taxpayers. As a taxpayer, I'd rather see my money go to people that can't afford to feed their children. If she's from the middle east, the people who pay her taxes are probably oppressed, and hungry themselves. No doubt THEY would prefer she not take their money to buy a 45 000 dollar dress.

My daughter was in Korea and took a picture of a replica $5,000 dress and had a korean seamstress make the exact dress with Swarovsky crystals for 800.00. She did an absolutely wonderful job. People need to stop going for the hype of these dresses because they are making money off of peoples emotions. Also Randy hush please.

Pnina is very hit and miss, to be honest. Some of her creations seem to have come out of the most pleasant, beautiful dream anyone could ever have, but some others look horrendously tacky and vulgar. I suppose that this is the reason behind her success: she caters to everyone's tastes.

Anyhow, she is an amazingly talented designer.
