That's the atheist's view, that anyone who they disagree with, they go a step further to insult them. I may not agree with a lot of people, but that doesn't make them anything less than what I consider myself. Atheists say there's no God, and I say there is, why can't we just disagree in peace?
This country was founded by people who wanted to escape religious persecution. Not to mention that the founding fathers had some pretty negative things to say about religion.
