Thanks for sharing man, it's a beautiful story, a beautiful journey and your motivation was very respectable. Congratulations. I wish I could feel my dad with you like you did.
I am dreaming of having the determination and fitness to complete an ironman...........your video is the inspiration I needed........it wont be Hawaii but i will get there. Thank you so much. A beautiful video that bought tears to my eyes. xx your dad would have been so proud.
Congratulations. I am an Spanish man. While I was looking different videos about Ironman I have had luck to find your excellent video and I would like to say you that it is one of the best videos I never seen on youtube. It has enyojed me and, more important, it has moved me, for this reason, thank you.
First time I comment on a youtube vid. This is really the best one I have seen by far on ironman motivations, achievements, and so on. Good job, my friend!
Holy crap! You almost brought me to tears in front of my co-worker. Amazing!!! I'm 36 and my goal is to do the ironman in Hawaii by the time I'm 40. You made me want to train even harder now!!
I loved your dad. We grew up in the same neighborhood, although we didn't know each other at the time. For the many years he cared for our cats, we used to laugh and reminisce about our mutual favorite places to go, as children. A little piece of me died when he died. Thank you for honoring him. He would be so proud!
Great Job ! I don`t know if you remembered but we`ve met each other at the exit of Bike Works Shop when we spoke a bit and I said to you that this race is a Big Show and has to be enjoyed all the time we are out there Anyway, during the race, I though about you, where you could be and if you were registering it and so on. Now, after having watched your video, I felt myself on it. You did something very very nice for your dad... I am pretty sure he loved it.
Damn it I'm not crying I just got something in my eyes : /
GoPro videos have gotten a bit cliche with the death defying feats becoming a bit humdrum which makes your video even more special. Love you're attitude!
I am only :59 seconds in and I have to say I love it already. Kudos to you for your accomplishment, on so many levels. I ran dozens of Tri's in the '80s, but never Kona.
We like your video so much we made it Video of the Day on Facebook!
facebook(dot)com/goprocamera
Stop by and tell our fans how you made such a great video! They always love to hear about what settings were used and any other tips and tricks that will help them make great GoPro videos too!
Thank you for rocking your GoPro and for making such an inspiring video! You *almost* make us want to do an Iron Man!
GREAT job on the video and of course on the race! Sometimes as a faster age grouper I yearn for an experience like yours, finishing in the dark, just out there soaking it all in, not worrying about splits and what place I'm in. Congrats!
WOW! Fantastic video, Cody! You made us laugh and you made us cry! What an inspiring story. Thank you for sharing your incredible journey with us, and way to get out there and ROCK your GoPro! Amazing!
Amazing!! Love your attitude during the whole thing. I will remember this when I do my IMMT in Aug '12. Thank you for sharing. Congrats and I am more then positive that your father was there with you through the 140.6 mile trek.
Hey Cody, I'm a teacher and moonlighting as a triathlete as well. I lost my dad last year to heart attack and since then, I have been running each race in memory of him esp 70.3 Singapore which was my debut at the 70.3. Your story inspires me further to do the 140.6 in similar dedication to my dad within the next year. Thank you Cody and congratulations on the completion of Kona. :)
Wow what a great journey, congratulations and thanks for sharing. I did the mistake of watching this at work and had to excuse myself to have a good cry.
That's a very nice video :o) congratulations for your race and your journey. I will be racing my first I next july and I will remember to smile like you did!
Hi Cody - nice video mate. Just wondering, what kind of camera did you use? I am considering doing a similar thing for some of the races in Australia. Cheers mate, Scott
I am a guy. I cannot cry watching this. Crying is for chicks. Screw it. I can be chick for a day. Your father must have given you a push in the last miles. Thanks for sharing this wonderful journey.

Well Done ... my son did the 2008 FL Ironman, inspired me to do the 2009 Ironman.
Would not trade anything for our two years experience of the Ironman.
I feel really sad for the 3 dislikes ... wish they could experience what we know!
Thanks again ...

Congratulations IRONMAN!
Your video brought me to tears... 29 years ago.... OCT 22nd. I stood and raced where you did. Kona, Class of 1982.
I'm 50 years old now and definitley an IRONMAN "don't photo". Still have the finisher's shirt, can't wear it. Never forget it.
Best race ever, bar none. I never felt my feet touch the ground the last 1/4 mile of Alii drive... best finish line ever!
Thanks for reminding me of when I was 10 feet tall.
