i'd recommend xbox 360, it's a lot cheaper and ps3 is only a little bit more enhanced graphics....360 may break and stuff but it can be easily repaired and for cheap too...good luck =)

actually downloading is the future of gaming and the 360 saves money in discs because its processor uncompresses the dvd as it runs, and if you have games on your hard drive, like me, then you would know how fast it is without uncompression...both ways are faster than the piece of crap blue ray player... i have a blue ray player and it actually is very slow (sony is a bad company)
