@FSUNole05 Nope, the deer are used to the dog. Dog is in a fenced yard and I've seen deer walk right past him while he is going nuts at the edge of the fence.
man when that first buck walked by ya i bet ur heart was a pumpin and then when the big ol boy walkd out i bet ur heart jumped out of ur chest. i get excited when i little doe or a little spike walks up to me. i love to bow hunt or just hunt in general. but i like bowhuntin better than rifle cause its more competitive.. and watching this video gets me all worked up for this huntin season summer needs to hurry up and end.
@4511point21 i just though it look like one looks like you hit him hard great shot yesterday i shot 2 carp one small one only like 2 pounds second was like a 5 pounder
Ehh I guess that was cool. I'm not a pussy or anything but killing something for fun just doesn't sit right with me. But to each his own I guess. It would've died anyhow.
@underlinedbluetext He actually went to a foodbank. I donated hundreds of pounds of meat to charity last year too. My deer provided approximately 2000 meals from last year alone. It stays local too through Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry.
@crf100person The mount is the hard thing to find. My mount is from Ram-Bow. They make a lot of mounts for fishing accessories, GPS stuff. This mount is discontinued. It screws in to the front where your stabilizer is screwed in. Then I use a regular MiniDV videocamera on the mount. It is not the most stabile and definitely jumps around when you take the shot but it is the only way I can take videos since I always hunt by myself. I have gotten a new
@crf100person ....which is called the Deer Ridge Innovations Gun and Bow Camera Mount. It works about the same but is a little offset from the handle. I needed to place a short stablizer (only about 1 inch) long so I had room for my hand when gripping the handle. It also works for shotgun mounts and kinda OK for rifles.
thanks for posting this great video of a great deer hunt. I took my first two deer with a bow this year and I'm HOOKED. Neither were as nice as yours, but I got a nice doe (very similar shot to the one you took) and a mature spike that I got VERY lucky to have walk out at 15 yards 6 minutes after I got into my stand on a workday for a quick hunt!
It was only 19 yards, deer was calm and moving slow with a quartering away that I prefer. Perfect angle for a heart shot. Why try to stop him when they get tense and jump the string? Practice and have confidence in your shot. Don't assume since it might be lucky for you...it was lucky for someone else.
@4511point21 you practice those kinds of shots? your margin for error goes way down , i'll wait for broadside shot or no shot at all , have more respect for the animal
Amen, i wouldnt have taken that shot, but some people are comfortable with that shot and if you are comfortable taking the shot then i dont have a problem with it..GREAT HUNT and GREAT KILL...i would have taken that first deer,lol..my rule is if its brown its down..fawn,doe,spike, or a monster buck..although i wouldnt shoot a small buck until the rut starts atleast..
That's what I need to learn - more patience. I have to feel confident that if I pass the next buck coming thru will be bigger. This is a good vid on that.
That was very kule...your so calm and collected and film the smaller Buck go by and so casually get ready for the heavy 9 (almost 10) to come on in...nice work.
To those anti hunters .We the hunters are the managers who conserve these herds .If there was no hunting these animals would most likely die from diseases or killed on highways ,killing them or the people that hit them. God forbid it be one of your loved ones!! .The ecosystem would be out of balance there for creating more problems in the long run .
Greed for speed. Loved my outback...just moved to an Xforce for speed. Now I shoot at 62 pounds with a ~384 grain arrow and still get 293-294 fps. Outback was way smoother than the Xforce for sure but you give some of that up for speed.
Nice deer and video footage was great felt like i was there nothing like the sound of the leaves the deer make just got the mathews dxt dam it shoots nice

try hard to understand this is wrong....let your better judgement serve you correctly than the person who convinces you "it's o.k." you might know better than that and want to stop this from happening again. its your better judgement that counts! the spirits of the afterlife are your judges now. you will answer to them and the animal you killed and we all pray you will be forgiven in some way.
as for this, there is nothing good or remotely entertaining, for that matter.
Use your better judgement please. Try to choose more wisely where you troll and make judgements on others. You have no chance of changing me or any other hunter on here. You are in a country where you wouldn't understand let alone even have the RIGHT to choose to do this. Except kill whales. Of course, I'm not going to Japanese videos and espousing my opinions on them. Live your life and let others live theirs.
Dog is maybe 100 yards away but he is in a high fenced yard. Ive seen deer walk within 10 feet of this fence with the dog barking at them on the other side and they know he cant get out.
I love that little sign of respect at the end where you wiped the blood away from his mouth. So many people on here are over concerned with the killing side of it rather than the way the animal is treated after. Great shot and great patience letting the other deer walk by as well. I'd love to be able to take you out after something here in England, but Bows are Illegal for hunting here!
Bows are illegal?!!! I feel for you. Thanks for the compliment. I always treat the animal with respect and felt this battle-hardened buck deserved it even more.
I'm looking to buy a camcorder to attach to my bow also. I have the mount already. I read miniDV is not the but that mini DVD or hard disc are better. Does your cam have a stabalizer buit in? I'm looking at a Canon DC 210.
I think a Hi-Def Hard Disk model would be ideal. The prices are coming down. Just looked in the paper today actually.
Another big consideration is SIZE and Weight. How big of a camera do you want to have on there is what you have to ask yourself. I think the Mini-DVD models are a little bigger than the mini-DV's. There is a lot of hassle with downloading and editing the mini-DV format. DVD would be easier and Hard-Drive would be even easier.
This video camera DOES have a stability program in it. I think it would be worse than Blair Witch Project if it didn't. You can help the wiggle as you let the arrow go either (too much shock running through the bow).
ANother thing to consider is the low-light capability. I have some shots on deer at first light and they are unusable due to the poor quality of my camera when it comes to low-light.
wow that a nice ohio buck my cusin got the youth 2003 ohio big buck 18 point buck and it was his first deer ohio has some really big dear i missed a big 10 point with my bow and a big doe with my bow this season

Yeah right...40-50 inches, LMAO! In your dreams...and anyways QDM is not possible in this area due to pressure and small areas to hunt. The bucks can be in 10 different areas that are hunted...by different hunters all with different goals. If you have 100's if not 1000's of acres to work your QDM...God Bless You (and post your heroic exploits here, of course).
If you are ever in Cincinnati...send me a PM. I'd love to show you our town and a personal tour of the Hamilton County Justice Center. Then after you serve your jail time, I can make sure you are deported.
i live in west chester/lakota district...so you must not be too far from here...nice buck and all but were you pretty close to some houses beacuse i heard the dog in the background
yep...the dog heard the noise...his yard is about 100 yards away...his yard is high-fenced to keep deer out. I have seen deer walk by his yard when he is barking at them from as close as 30 feet away and the deer just look at him. they are so used to him.

It almost looked like you were going to let him walk away. I thought you would have taken the closer shot when he paused below you. Either way hunting with bows is great! Never tried it myself as i'm afraid i'd let em get away with an arrow sticking out of his leg or something. haha! cheers!

Panasonic GS-55 (mini-DV) mounted on the Ram-Bow mount. The mount screws into the stabilizer hole.

It almost looked like you were going to let him walk away. I thought you would have taken the closer shot when he paused below you. Either way hunting with bows is great! Never tried it myself as i'm afraid i'd let em get away with an arrow sticking out of his leg or something. haha! cheers!

Couldn't take the risk of moving when he was right in front of me. Drawing a bow back makes a lot of movement. Thanks!
