He definitely has a lot of heart. I don't think anyone will disagree with most of what he says here.
The only problem is right at the beginning where he seems to imply that the war on terror is totally separate from helping to sort out Afghanistan's internal struggles. That country will be a breeding ground for violent extremists until it stabilizes, especially since we took the liberty of destroying their previous government. If we can do that, we ought to help them install a new one.

I think Congressman Kennedy deserves his due respect. To all of those who think that he's such a discredit to Congress, why don't you run? Yeah...that's what I thought. People who sit back and speak so crassly frankly don't have the "balls" (yeah I said it) to get up and do a better job. Congressman Kennedy is absolutely correct about Afghanistan and the press. Congressman Kennedy is absolutely right about the disservice the national press does to this Country when they focus like a laser on inconsequential, stupid, meaningless things like the Massa issue. We have too many other pressing, critical issues going on. Kennedy may have gone overboard in his rant, but he made a lot of sense when talking about the press, and about the obligation we all have to show more respect for those who serve by focusing on what they're doing as we speak.
