Yes. I get it. You atheists are SO witty and beyond the intellectual level of us dumb Christians. I just like to pick nits. It still wasn't funny. Some of his stuff IS funny, even hilarious. This wasn't it.
Wow. 0:33. Funny, except the Bible is NOT called the Gospel. Only the New Testament, specifically the first four books, is referred to as the Gospels.

Beautiful & hilarious! Exposes the "suspend your disbelief at the door" aspect of religion, without being too preachy.
On a related note, it's interesting how easily a member of one sect/flavor can see through that aspect of other sects/flavors (while being unable to think critically about their own). Breeding such intolerance of seeing the universe in a different way is, after all, a necessary part of breeding adherents to any one such view.

Why do I have to accept humans were not created from the dust of the earth? Is it better to say that man evolved from the soupy dust mix from the earth? Isnt it ironic science and Gods word proclaim man came from the earth? Imagine trying to explain to man thousands of years ago where he came from. Man that did not understand things on a molecular level. Dust, soupy mix hmm.. not too far apart.
I just dont agree with people that are so closed minded that they want to silence the people that dont agree with them. Kind of like what the Islamic terrorists do, don't you think? They want to get rid of anyone that opposes their views. The athiest movement is moving in this direction. Listen to how they devalue mthose that oppose them even saying that the world would be better without Religious people. Kind of like terrorists that want to silence those that oppose them.
There are elements in all three major monotheistic religions that do that as well...by making the (inaccurate) generalization that all atheists believe that the world would be better without religion, you come very close to being guilty of the same closed-mindedness that you associate with atheism.
There are idiots and assholes in all walks of life unfortunately, and both the theists and atheists that are vocal about wanting the others removed from existence are a tiny minority that get a lot of attention.
You're right to call people out like Chris Hitchens that advocate obnoxious behaviour against people of religion, but don't make the mistake of conflating people like Chris Hitchens with the majority of moderate atheism that just happens to hold a different belief.
Hitchens is a prick, its got nothing to do with atheism or not, hes a self indulged, flag waving, Daily Mail loving bastard. And whats this about moderate atheism? In saying that you imply there is such a thing as extreme atheism. Either you're an atheist or you're not, end of.
I agree with you about Chris Hitchens; I don't particularly like him either.
Because I say that there are moderate atheists who just happen to disagree with theists rather than wishing them ill like Chris Hitchens I am implying that there are no people like him? Are you kidding? That's the most blatant false dichotomy I've seen in awhile.
As far as beliefs go, yes you are either an atheist or you're not. The extreme/moderate differentiation I was pointing out was that there are atheists like Hitchens that choose to be jerks and ones that just happen to disagree with the existance of a god or gods but don't try to push that belief on others. And yes, there are quite a few of them; I happen to see them all the time where I go to university.
I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. There is no such thing as extreme or moderate atheism, atheism simply means that you're not a christian, jew, muslim, hindu, or whatever. Atheism is not a sliding scale, its a simple yes or no. The only thing close to 'moderate atheism' is agnosticism. Whether Hitchens and people like him are idiots or not is a seperate issue.
I'm not misunderstanding what you say, I just disagree with the way you apply the terminology extreme and moderate. To me, those are ways in which a person chooses to express their faith; not the definition of the faith itself. And therefore when you criticized what I said, you weren't criticizing the definition (which as you hopefully have noticed I already agreed with), but that which you say is a separate issue.
Btw, your definition of atheism is a bit inaccurate. It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with a specific belief in a higher power; you are far closer to describing deism with your words than you are atheism.
But yes, I agree with the basic premise of your statement that the *basic* part of atheism (i.e. lack of belief in god) is a yes/no thing. If you want to go deeper into atheistic belief however, then there are gradations.
The comparison to terrorists is hyperbole, and makes for a poor argument. It's all too common, too, like when people try to compare stuff to the Nazis. There ought to be a version of Godwin's Law for terrorism.
Which is harder to blieve??? God created us from the DNA of Adam or.. We were once amebas floating in the ocean then we turned into a fishy then we grew arms and legs and crawled up on land like a fishy with arms then we turned into something between a fishy with legs and an ape then we turned into an ape then we turned into man. LOL hmmm Scientists arent always right. darknlooking blocks you if you dont agree with his views and pat him on the back.. What a wimp.. soo bye bye
If he created us from the DNA of Adam how did he create Adam? Also how can the church oppose incest if adam and Eve were indetical except in gender, if that were true we would all look like Adam and Eve did. So why are we all different colours? Idiot.
At least give an unbiased equal description if you're going to compare.
"Scientists" arent always right, but im assuming they have a more educated understanding of the world than you, and those who transcribed the Bible. Science is based around logic and the accumulation of knowledge , and i think if the evidence was there, then the idea that "God created us from DNA of Adam..." would be considered plausible.
Go and check out the guy (darknlooking) who is posting these videos. He obviously likes to look at himself. He thinks that he is all knowing lecturing eveyone. Its very funny. He is so serious about his intellectual superiority that he has closed his mind to actually thinking.

No, by pointing out examples of irony. For example, their claims of intellectual superiority WHILE using poor grammar such as you have just done.

...I'm afraid grammar doesn't matter on the internet. Furthermore, Americans have no place trying to point out irony.
