It's a sadistic idea:hands are tied in order not to try onmislying the rope by the executed,feet are belted because on the fallen down,body uses to beat in order to free;and face is covered with a veil or a hood,in order to avoid the "horrible vision" of the face,because face is cyanided,the semblance turns awful

why during hanging the body parts are being tied with rope and belts means hand and legs and why face is been covered with a black cloth and then rope is tied around the neck...but the video was excellent...but both the prisinors doesnt shaked for a second when they get hanged below the trap when rope tied tightly around the neck

@silkykimono I think it's so the prisoner can see through the hood, whilst it prevents the crowd from seeing the prisoner's face.

@eggmangoogoogoojoob actually, historically it was as a courtesy to the condemned and their loved ones bc of being a so called "proper" society. But it soon turned into a death penalty tradition instead of doing it out of respect. And no i am NOT as historian I am working to become a high school history teacher and I also know alot about this era of history.

I believe this was based on an actual crime and execution in Canada in 1899.

The costumes and set seem in line with that time.

@harman4369 Exactly correct. However, this depiction (like all others filmed) had glaring inaccuracies. Like, no snow on the ground for a late winter in Canada, or the black curtain that surrounded tne bottom of the gallows,ect.
