Paul made very good points about the reasons behind the attack on 9-11, but other than that he'd eliminate so many government programs that only those well off would survive. If you want social security, medicare, and other socialist programs then stop blindly following Ron Paul because most people have no idea how radical he really is. The reason why we didn't have another Great Depression is that the feds bailed out the banks. W/out govt assistance bus would've halted completely.

The poor aren't paying more for this program. I know I'm getting more back every week than I had over the last 8 years and my income definately qualifies me as poor. Not that I have a clunker to trade in, but I'm saving more money because I'm not paying as much in.

To add to his points, the so-called clunkers are often NOT clunkers. A good portion are in terrific condition but are being destroyed anyway. Who parked their brains at the door in coming up with THAT plan??

Another fiasco in the making is that many of those trading up are bringing in a paid for vehicle & swapping it for new debt. This, at a time when jobs are disappearing & the economy is predicted to go belly up.
