Phillipines is OK for nightlife, I've been to Angeles and Manila back in '95, but there's not the same laid-back atmosphere that Pattaya's got...Also Angeles is a whole load smaller than Pattaya... And Manila's bar scene was crap when I was there- the govt had started a crackdown on girlie bars- to tie in with the predominant religious philosophy there of no-one being allowed to have any fun.....

Plus the place is just outside where an American Air Base used to be decades ago, so they aren't strangers to tourists going over there just to bang chicks. It's also a bit more pricey with less girls crawling around IMO.
