For those accusing the owner of taunting the cat with the window in the way, I assure you it means nothing. Nearly every squirrel I've seen is not afraid of cats (or, at best only mildly wary of them), and the reason for that is because most squirrels know the cat will not get it. Just this morning my (full-grown) cat was a mere foot away from a squirrel on my balcony, but she just would *not* go after the thing even though she easily could have. I think squirrels are a bit too big for most cats

Sorry, I don't mean to contradict you but cats are indeed very capable of catching and dispatching squirrels. Mine is not yet three but he's caught and eaten two squirrels that were robbing the birds food table in the garden. He eats everything apart from the head and the tail. I don't encourage him to do this but I'm pleased he goes for the squirrels rather than birds. The other thing that eases my conscience about it is that he eats what he caught rather than just leaving it dead

I don't think squirrels can see through glass. They come up to one of the windows at my house and I chuck some sunflower seeds out there onto a roof kind of ledge they jump onto. I have a video of it if you want to see, but no matter how much I move, they aren't startled, so they obviously don't know I'm there. My bunny can see me and comes running to me if I'm near the door sometimes, yet a squirrel can't. Now I'm confused and curious about their eyesight. lol

I love this clip, I have 7 regular squirrels in my back garden. Cats regularly come but they are always outwitted and out-maneuvered. Squirrels show cats no respect at all. I once saw a cat get hold of a squirrels tail and it won't soon forget it. The Squirrel spun around and clawed the cat which ran off squealing. Squirrels have extremely sharp claws and can break open an almond in it's shell with their razor-sharp teeth. Domestic cats are seriously out-gunned, 99 times in 100 the squirrel wins
