In the new school, he teaches both Traditional Karate (Shotokan) and Aikido (separate classes and tuition) .
I've read that Tang Soo Do - although a Korean martial art - was largely based on Shotokan so the transition that the school made must have been relatively easy.
@lonewolfshintaro you're right, im a 3rd dan in tsd and our style was heavily based on shotokan (so much so that im very familiar with the japanese terminology). also we refer to forms as kata more often than hyung or poomsae. weird huh
I used to study with Stan Smith. I noticed Stan's school changed from Tang Soo Do to Aikido. Was there a falling out or, as life happens, interests changed and the school went from TSD to Aikido?
@taitaisanchez I wonder if you study long enough to remember how to address Sabonim or Sensei Smith. He would probably tell you why the change, if you ask him. I don't believe he has forgotten his previous training, but he has mentioned found something to add to his knowledge.

@kickandpunch1 I didn't mean disrespect, Sahbumnim Smith was a great teacher. I was just idly curious.

Just saw a YouTube video of Master DA Giacobbe with a certain Master Stan Smith assisting. Was that Sensei Stan?
Check out the YouTube video with the title "Master DA Giacobbe Mind Master"

I thought it was a nice demonstration of AIKIDO (the hakama is the clue).
I wonder how many wood boards he had to break before he started to break coconuts, using the EMPTY HAND knowledge and techniques.
