Russia only entered South Ossetia after the Georgian army went and killed well over 1000 civilians (including women and children, and many russian citizens), bombed hospiatals and schools, and murdered peace keepers. This was of course after georgia began shutting off supply lines, which left south ossettians hungry and without heat, until these things were provided by Russia.

@cheizy79 1st, Russia never promotes itself as an TRUE democracy, if you want to talk about Putin, he said himself that Russia can NOT be the same democracy as western Europe or US, different people, different mentality, this not good nor bad. 2nd, Russia gave independence to Ossetia and Abkhazia 3d, maybe if Chechens showed that they can live peacefully next to Russians Russia would loosen its grip on them.

Russia intervened and saved many lives. I don't know what Russia's interests are for Georgia, and neither do you. But I know that Saakashvili organized a news broadcast saying that Russia launched a full scale invasion in to Georgia, this joke gave many people heart attacks. How can a clown be president?
