If I have this right, dub-step uses a baseline that doesn't necessarily mean drum, just bass beats... and drum-step uses a baseline that is almost (but not necessarily) fully comprised of bass drum beats (kick, tom, etc)... however, what differentiates drumstep from drum and bass? Is it speed? The pattern of baseline? Both?... yes, I'm a newb to this, but can't learn if you don't ask...
