I often wonder why this,Winterreise, schubert's greatest work, is ever performed by any voice other than a lyric tenor and accompanied by anyone other than a great solo pianist . Here we are fortunate enough to hear the greatest German lyric tenor, schreier, since recording began and the most profound Russian interpreter of any music, Richter. Together they reproduce a sound that schubert could only have dreamt of but can now hear from his grave. Merci mille fois polokop pour tant de plaisir!
Der "Schreier" und sein "Richter"! ;)

While Peter Schreier isn't any 'star tenor', he nonetheless has a very wide vocal repertoire and numerous first rate recordings to his credit.
He surely ranks among the most important tenors of the mid to late 20th century.

A great tenor version indeed, while the song cycle is mainly sung by baritones or basses.
In fact, this is a legendary pairing.

Do you have all the other songs?? All the songs in this cycle are so beautiful so can you upload a few others too?

Rather slow but expressive–an excellent contrast to the more popular Fischer-Dieskau interpretation.

They have cool interpretations!
I really like their taste in music. This is a flower performance.
